Sometimes, it’s just time to hang it up. I’m arguing in favor of retirement for these 7 bands, either from recording new music, touring, or BOTH.

  • as someone who’s favorite band is Linkin Park, i’d argue they should also retire completely. while i hope they continue releasing 20 year anniversary box sets for every album like they did with Hybrid Theory, it just wouldn’t feel the same without Chester’s presence. they could always rework unreleased tracks with Chester’s vocals into new material, but i’d prefer them to just keep releasing demos and unreleased tracks from album eras
  • I would add KISS to the list. They haven't released new songs in ages. And just like what was mentioned about Angus running around in a school boy outfit when he's in his late 60s, the same can be applied to 70 something year old Paul & Gene and their replacements in facepaint and leather. The sad thing is that they have had several " last tours" or " end of the road" tours yet they still roll on.
  • U2 should just be a touring band from now on. I’d love to see them live.

I think Weezer could take longer in the studio instead of trying to release yearly, but I'll argue that a majority of the albums released in the last 10 or so years have been really good
  • U2 are my absolute favorite band, but honestly I don't think I'd mind if they became a touring band. At this point, my U2 playlist is absolutely enormous, so I think I could live with SOE being their last album. (Also, it's been six years since I saw them live and I'm getting a tad impatient for them to come back to my city)

Jon, thank you SOOOOOOO much for putting Adam Levine on the thumbnail for thsi video. The Adam Levine Experience really needs to retire, and I am sure so many people including me has had enough of him and constantly trying to stay relevant, especially after the cheating scandal! 😆

System of a Down is one of my favorite bands since 2007 so i feel your pain of never getting the excitement of a new album release by them. SOAD nowadays is the very definition a nostalgia act. Serj is one of my favorite vocalists ever, i absolutely love the solo work he's doing but he's indeed stalling SOAD creatively. Same goes for Weezer, i band i like for a long time now but i don't know them very well, but them constantly popping up on my Spotify's "release radar" every Friday made me think "Damn, those guys are real workaholics" on more then one occasion.
  • Linkin Park has been on hiatus ever since Chester died, but they haven't officially broken up. As much as I hate to say it, they need to announce a break up, because there's no LP without Chester.
  • Bon Jovi. They’re my favorite band of all time. But in 2013, Jon lost Richie Sambora and in 2015, his vocal abilities started to rapidly decline. It’s been honestly really sad to watch. And the fact that he or his publicist hasn’t addressed this at all is unethical to the fans
  • The candle analogy that you used is absolutely perfect. I also think that the Motley Crue should retire.
  • I ALMOST wanna say Green Day buuuuuut part of me still feels they have one more great album in them!
  • Was expecting to see The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith on this list
  • Weezer needs to put more songs from Maladroit on their set lists. It’s one of my favorite albums from the band. Btw, what did you think about the other SZNZ EP’s? I know that you’ve talked about the Spring installment.
  • @h1dd3n56
I still think there’s hope for Incubus, but damn we’ve been waiting a while for the next album
  • I think Incubus are still a worthwhile band. The last EP in 2020 had some really good and heartfelt songs imo. Especially 'On without me'. And even on 8, which to me is their weakest album, there were enough good songs and even one absolute highlight, State of the art, which deals exactly with them getting older. They are such creative dudes that they will be putting out at keast good material for a good while. Oh, also I wouldn't call Light Grenades a soft album exactly XD

Your segment on the Adam Levine Show is 💯% accurate! I'm so sick and tired of how much of a waste of airtime he is on the radio stations. And I remember watching Todd In The Shadows' worst list of 2022, and he left a slot in his dishonorable mentions just for Maroon 5... only for it to be completely empty lmao. Thank god he didn't release a song last year. Let's keep it that way.

Incubus is an amazing live band. I'd pay to see them live still.
