Been going there for 15 yrs. My parents bought their retirement home in the area. Its devastating to know its gonna take 20yrs to recover, if it ever does.

Thank you for doing this update. That hurricane really affected me and I’m no where close to Florida but as an American, I felt it just like I did 9-11. Thank you for giving us hope and letting us see there can be a new beginning from bad situations. ❤

That is what I admire about Florida, they don't set around and whine, they get busy cleaning up and getting back to their lives and work.

Thank you for showing this, The main areas of FM are thriving again, the area going towards Sanibel and FMB are still massively devastated, however those boats have all been moved since December. I personally went down in October and I worked my ass off to help where I could. So very sad! But it’s getting much better. Please patronize this area as much as possible. I’d say that around November I was praying for kooky loo’s to go away and let us get work done. But now this area needs help by way of tourism more than ever.

Glad I visited Ft Myers & Sanibel for the first time just the year before. Had no idea it was going to be my last. If I were a local yes you keep going & supporting.

Six months already 🤔 time flies…

I’d like to give a very huge shout out to “@Cultivating Hope by Jimmy Finch” without them cooking everyday and their selfless sacrifice and all that supported them! They fed us while we worked!! Also thank you to all the Law Enforcement officers that came from far away and the local Law Enforcement for all their hard work in keeping the worst areas down to the wire safe! I remember the day that they opened Sanibel to the public again! I was there and I saw the aftermath first hands, down to my co workers that saw it from the very beginning and had to drive through the winds and braved the drive down directly into the storm to offer help the moment IAN turned its path and took aim at Fort Myers!!

I called it as a cat 5 way before they even updated it, or before it made landfall. The gut never lies...
