What a memory! Remembering my teenage days back in 1570.

It should be against the law to have ads in the middle of such beautiful music.
  • I'm Glad Dowland lived long enough to have his own YouTube channel :)
  • Ahhh, peaceful music after a long day of killing dragons and orcs. Reminds me of home at Lakeview Manor near Riverwood.

John Dowland would have never imagined he'd be getting all these Youtube views. 1 million. Not bad for someone who lived hundreds of years ago.

Some of John Dowland's Lute works have been transposed
for the Guitar, and are truly beautiful.

I developed a love of Medieval and Renaissance music while a student at Indiana University in Bloomington. They offered wonderful student concerts performed by the vocal and instrumental students at the School of Music. I am forever grateful.

My 1st child's middle name was Dowland--after this composer. The boy died young, the music lives forever. I'm listening today with a heart Dowland would have appreciated.

Ah this reminds me of the good old days as a merchant in the Hanseatic League. My home town was Lübeck, I remember those days when I visited a brand new city every month. That was in 1500, I am getting quite old right now.
  • Once a musicteacher mentioned the sound of string instruments goes straight into one's heart. It is true, we can feel these gentle touch!

  • John Dowland's music played on the lute is simply sublime. The delicate plucking of the strings and the melancholic melodies evoke a sense of longing that is both haunting and beautiful. I am so grateful for the timeless legacy he left us.

This reminds me of my childhood growing up in 1526. Lol but it does actually remind me of my childhood because my dad played these absolute smashers when I was about 4-7.
