These random events were deleted on OSRS. Some of them only made it into the game for a few hours, but nevertheless behaved in such strange or unappealing ways that Jagex was forced to remove them.

Anybody else remembering killing shades thinking that was how you got ghostly robes? Ah, the good ol days.

I'm laughing my ass off imaging a kid getting the random event "how many fingers am I holding up" and getting flipped off lmfao
  • I used to love just chilling and fishing, mining or WC and then watching someone have to fight a gollum or evil chicken

The equipment damaging randoms were still there well after 2004, I started in 2006 and I remember all 3 of them.
  • Low key I kind of liked how chaotic they made things, especially the equipment damaging ones.
  • Dude the nostalgia from this video... I specifically remember finding a D axe head on the ground while cutting yews near the flax in cammy. I immediately sold it and got a full set of blue elegant and a beret because fashionscape lmao.

I miss evil chicken and the troll from fishing, always would see noobs getting trashed or see them hauling ass to a bank lmao.

You brought back so many memory’s, I totally forgot about the weird box

I remember one of the coolest flexes you could do in F2P back in the day was fight the shade and get the shade robe set from it. We were all poor kids back then so seeing someone fight a lvl120+ in rune armour was super badass to us.

Imagine just chopping a tree, almost getting knocked out, and then get flipped off LOL
  • @IMakeMetal
I remember the poisoned chests killing someone in front of me when I was younger. I took that dude's g-maul
  • I remember it was rumored you'd get a great reward for killing one of the guardians... turned out to be a waste of precious swordfish.

When I was a kid, I thought for a long time that jagex gave events manually. So I said "ty jagex" every time I got a random event in hope of good loot and events more often lol. I wasn't the smartest kid.

I don't think the doctor "duplicated himself" as a bug, you were literally dizzy from the rock/wood hitting you so you were seeing him multiple times

Holy shit, I remember the tangle vines random event! I remember being about 10 at that point, and my English was decent, but nowhere to the same level, and I googled "Runescape gold cheat" or something similar earlier in the day, and I figured someone hacked my Runescape account so I didn't play for almost 2 weeks cus I was terrified I got a virus on my RS account or I got the family computer hacked. Goddamn, I'm old.

This brought back some serious memories. I remember Id be so happy getting random events especially the ones where you get cool clothing

This video was a nostalgia trip and a half. I remember hearing about the vines but never seeing them. The attacking ent sticks out to me. I remember when you examined it the tree was still called a tree (or whatever variety it was) but the color of the text was yellow like an NPC and you couldn't do anything to it. Run away and come back to reset it. The whrilpool and swarm I had totally forgotten about. This was the best youtube video I watched all day. OSRS is such a weird hybrid of the game I geeked the fuck out on as a preteen/young teen and an entirely new game all together. The optics of seeing stuff like this you forgot about is strange.

I remember there was this random event that would note your items, it happened to me when I was a kid. I didn't know what a banknote was, I thought my items had been magically turned to paper. So I dropped everything, thinking it was worthless lmfao

Man this video took me right back, made me all misty eyed and nostalgic haha Loved the video my man
