I came up with this simple theory for rita's name, well Rita`s last name wasnt always loud untill she married Lynn senior and Rita's other side of the family are im pretty sure all R names proven by aunt Ruth and it's not because they ran out of L names. like if you like my theory

The mom's name Rita is suppose to be a pun as in "Rita Loud" like read aloud, also she is making a book so pretty fitting.

I think the reason is because in one of the episodes it mentions something about Reada becoming a novelist because when you put her whole name together you have Read-a-loud

One thing my family and the loud house have in common... Rita is the only one with no L at the start of her name My mum is the only one without A at the start of her name,my mum also wanted all of our names to start with A,her name starts with K

the creators obviously were sick of using all of these L names so they wanted to change it. And Rita isn't the biggest part of the show and is rarely showed throughout, while the father is probably more important because of his personality. They just added Rita to compliment The father and to make the show feel more real. If the father was a single father then it would be unbelievable. My other theory is that Rita isn't actually there. She's just an image the family is believing because maybe she left or died, and this is why the father isn't lonely and gets through things. Clide was probably in close cahoots with Rita so he is also crazy. This theory is probably not real because in other episodes other adults or children for that matter see Rita. But this was a fun thing to think. Also, I can't remember the name if the father so not judgment please.

I think they named Rita, Rita, because the family was originally supposed to be rabbits. Just a theory. Or maybe her name is that, because her family could've had a special name system or due to her being brought into the family through marriage.
