The Akshay Kumar & Audience Disconnection | What Happened?

Published 2024-03-27
What I notice is an actor who got stuck in routine and now has to reengineer his process all over again! The video regarding #akshaykumar and a sense of staleness that has creeped in with his performances became a topic I needed to focus on as the #bademiyanchhotemiyan trailer dropped which also stars #tigershroff #alayaf and #manushichhillar and #sonakshisinha in supporting roles. The film's main antagonist #prithvirajsukumaran seems to leave the most impact but does the trailer? I hope you like The Akshay Kumar Career Review & The Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Trailer Review | Akshay Kumar | Tiger Shroff | Prithviraj Sukumaran | Sonakshi Sinha | Alaya F | Manushi Chillar

The solution is there right in front of him: return to the comedy genre with creators like Rajesh Krishnan and Raj & DK!

I think it's time for Indian directors to consider action-genre movies with some seriousness. The mass budget and mass action sequences aren't going to cut it.

Anmol, I feel like 2-3 years later, people will also grow tired of mass masala films. Let's hope that mid budget films focusing on pure storytelling will start collecting more at the box office instead.

I think among the youtube reviewers Jammy's audience are more mature and sensible. Even the comment section is so healthy and no toxicity
  • Akshay needs to turn to OTT as an experiment and check what audience really wants from him. That's why I respect Ajay Devgn so much because he is never afraid of experimenting.
  • @BRB-COMEDY
Akshay Kumar play's himself in every movie
  • My biggest complaint with the trailer is that it gives away way too many interesting points of the film. Bollywood needs to learn the art of how to cut a trailer from South!
  • Tomorrow the "Goat Life" will release !! 16 Years of waiting 🔥

5:15 - My favourite use of the trailer syncing with the music is MI: Fallout. Henry Cavil's punches and reloading his biceps matching perfectly with the music.

And what the hell is wrong in the way the directors show him and portray him. Akshay kumar is one of the handsome man in the industry. They should take inspiration from his characters like 'Guru Gulab Khatri' the way 2000's directors used to show him in action movies and which suited him at least that's commendable irrespective of the movie presentation at least they showed akshay kumar in the best possible way (stylish and yet dangerous) but look at now..!!

Jammy I wholeheartedly agree with you. It will be a mistake to keep Prithviraj under a mask. The banter is rubbish here. I think Varun-John did far better in Dishoom a movie I felt was very entertaining and perhaps deserved a franchise. Also worried that AK is delivering dialogue in the same flat tone as Tiger Shroff. Perhaps this was to equalise that Tiger had to adjust to Akshay's dancing
  • I think it's Akshay's stubbornness of doing films in limited days in a certain way coming in way of everything....just because it worked for so many yesrs(anyway he have always did certain type of films which were really good as he is really good in comedy and simple films which gives social commentary) doesn't mean it is going to work for every film every genre..
  • Your thumbnail is itself pointing out the problem with Akshay Kumar in the recent past few years.
  • I personally don't like this obsession of making similar kind of movies either they are massy(Jawaan, Salaar, Leo etc.) or nationalist genre(Pathaan, Yodha, etc.) . Why don't we make historical epics, psychological thriller, sci-fi movies or even good rom coms.😅

Prithviraj is such a great actor. I wonder what they were thinking when they decided to hide his face with the Dr Doom like mask. I hope we can see his full acting potential without any mask in this movie.
  • He needs to go back to his roots. Genuine comedies and a few action spectacles. He has to stop acting in such a generic way. He needs to treat his audience more seriously.
  • @Serenetalks
I feel that zeal to achieve big is still alive in Akshay sir, but the problem is content now-a-days we hardly have films with great stories and directiors and screenplay writers also need a great push.

Akshay Kumar as he gets older should really be playing villain roles from now on. From the 1990’s most of his movies were Action movies, 2000’s comedy movies, 2010’s social movies and now 2020’s and so forth, he should start playing psychological thriller movies of him playing the bad guy.
  • @kilangaier2949
The problem with Akshay Kumar is that he has fed too much of him to the audience and now audience is fed up of him.
