This whole show feels like someone shoved the books through a paper shredder, made a paper mache out of the remains and glued it all together with their own feces.

I love how they made two seasons to tell Master Chief's backstory even though it was never his origin the fans cared about. We loved Master Chief putting his life on the line for humanity and his relationship with Cortana and Arbiter. The story of Halo was a "more than just a machine" type story, it wasn't overly deep and it wasn't overly complicated. It was simple yet enjoyable.
  • Karl Urban was awesome in Judge Dredd because you never see his face without the helmet. He wasn't concerned about his face being seen, he was concerned about staying true to the character.
  • The core problem with the show is that both in the game and in the books John was an extremely obvious stoic, partly due to his augmentations making him similar to a eunuch, guy rarely spoke unless necessary regardless of armor being on or off. I get that they want to use the "alternate universe" concept to justify major differences but then it's no longer Halo anyway, it's a Halo skin wrapped around a concept that is fundamentally different.

It's like this show was written by someone who watched 20 minutes of a playthrough of combat evolved, said I'd like to explore the stories of those 3 random marines, and decided to fill in the story of master Chief on the fly.
  • Whenever I see John from the Halo show, I always tell myself, “Thats not John-117, thats his back up clone the UNSC made, John-118”.
  • It does things to me that shows like 1899 were canceled after a single season but shite like this lives on.

Idk how they did it but they made Halo boring
  • I forgot this existed, let alone that they even made a second season.

I feel like these writers would do a better job making a post war series about Spartans in retirement lamenting over when they wore armour and having to deal with newfound emotions after they're given a chance to integrate into society.
  • “Spartans don’t die; they go missing in action.” Missed opportunity.
  • Imagine a family drama show, prequel ot Harry Potter, where it's nothing but small hints of Harry's abilities and the rest is just every-day life of the Dursleys. That's how this show feels.
  • It is 100% Pablo Schreiber's fault that we don't see the suit as often. At least the helmet as in multiple interviews, he has said something along the lines of "you can't tell what my emotions are when I'm wearing the helmet". He might as well just say I'm not a good enough actor to pull off this role. He was clearly miscast for it if that's his excuse.
  • At least in the first couple of Halo books, there's no mention of Spartans not getting funerals, well, not directly. They do state that officially Spartans never die, even if their death is 100% confirmed, they are listed as missing in action, for propaganda reasons. So I'd imagine they would either get a very private funeral, or a quiet disposal without any ceremony, but beyond the official listing, nothing is mentioned.

Velma got a season 2, Halo got a season 2. Do people not like making good shows anymore?

The number of changes made between seasons is baffling. Chief un-dies, Kwan Ha's story is deleted along with Madrigal, Makee un-dies, Cortana's entire purpose changes... When the show was greenlit, they were given 20 episodes that they split into 2 10-episode seasons. (which they later condensed further for budget reasons) My point is that they knew that there would be a season 2, so it's not like they were surprised with a sudden renewal. So why on Earth did they write the show so inconsistently?!
