I remember when Precision Power used to be a quality product back in the day. The PPI series and Art series where fantastic.
  • I remember lusting after the Precision Power amplifiers back in the early 1990's, but they were way beyond what I could afford.
  • @Skarfar90
Had Precision Power (or Epsilon for that matter) rated this amp honestly, and sold it as a 1200 watt unit (400, 800 and 1200 watts into 4, 2 and 1 ohms respectibly), it would have been a real budget gem. Also, being strappable, combining two for a total output of at least 2500 watts at a little under $260 is a good deal in my books. By the way Derek. I saw a Boss amp with honest ratings in the manual. Pretty sure it was the newer Onyx series. Despite having the big MAX number plastered all over the box, the manual it came with had actual honest ratings in it. Never thought I'd see the day

I bought one about 6 months ago and let my teenage son use it in his vehicle with two 10’s at 1ohm. He’s getting a good 1k watts out of it, no issues. Can’t complain at 130.00 for 1.2kwatts, only time will tell how long it will actually survive a teenager abusing the shit out of it😂
  • @thegoatcatcher
Precision Power was huge back in the late 80s/early 90s. Loved their stuff. They should have marketed this amp as a 1,200 watt amp (under advertise). Advertise less but over delivered.
  • @dslifestuff9331
The internals looked really nice & the power/cost ratio is decent,, but yeah they really need to stop advertising power that your not getting 🫤
  • @doctormidnight
Man I had a pair of PPI flat piston 12s back in the late 90s and they were just amazing.
  • @c0uchsl0uch
Precision power made good amps around 1988, didn't they make a Art series?
  • @markfrank5937
My respect level for this channel, I always hit 👍 before I even watch. I know I'm getting what I came for, with a lot of entertainment. 👍✊
  • All of your videos are great knowledge, even when the manufacturers are outright lying to us, these videos help people to know what they couple up with this Old School Car Hifi!
  • That's a shame, ppi used to be that high end dealer back in the day.
  • @robsolf
Soundstream and PP were BEASTS back in the day. Always put out more than advertised. My guess is this parent company bought them up and retooled them for "me too" products. Sad, but hey, 500-1500 watts for $130 is as good a deal as any.
  • @rustybrown9829
Had one in the 90's it was awesome. I would still use this style. And thanks to you I know true watts to plan for . 👍
  • @michaelogg1254
Finally you reviewed the amp I recommended it’s only been over a year lol good job bud D
  • @iLhize
Ive been running this amp on my American Bass Elite 15 for the past 8 months and it hits hard for the price its unbeatable power
  • @TioDave
I've been running precision power atom series on my system for over six years. Starting with the last version of the atom amps and now the new model. I'm running the 5 channel to polk MM 6.5" and a DD1806. I needed something water resistant and compact to fit my build. It's on a pedicab without suspension, being rattled to hell. It's been working great.
  • @girthquake9655
I really really like it for the price! Amazing review!
  • Looks just like the BMAF 5500.1. And puts out about the same power too!
