What some people don't realize is that inline skating is I would say the best form of non impact (once mastered) form of cardiovascular exercise there is. Because it is a hybrid of running, skiing and ice skating, engaging most of the major core and spinal muscle groups as well as improving general balance.... without the impact running makes on the knees. I can skate 10 miles without any aching, impact etc, I also know what running 70 miles feels like and can assure you that inline skating is much less damaging to the knees medium to long term. The faster you go the better the cardiovascular effect....but stopping really well is an art in itself....

I LOVE rolleblading, but I'm DEFINITELY not this skilled. Goodness, if I ever managed to do a slide i'd be weeping tears of real joy. It's so difficult to accomplish!!
