Hi Shonnie! I became a Certified Real Estate Appraiser in 2022 and I hardly ever see anyone in this industry that looks like me. Thanks for sharing this video!
  • @CG-uk1vz
Seeing more black people become appraisers is a beautiful thing. Congrats. I'm a new subscriber. Loving your videos.

Thank You Shonnie! This video hit home for me today. I came across your video while preparing for my first interview to become a Appraiser Trainee. (Lord welling they will see my value and offer me the position) I've been trying so hard to break into the appraisal industry in Los Angeles but I find it challenging because its very male dominate and specific to certain race as I see out here. The values you have for wanting to pursue Appraisal are awesome and you're absolutely right integrity is needed and so many people of color have been unfairly under valued. So thank you for being an advocate in the industry.

Love this video! Not sure why I'm on this side of YouTube when I'm trying to become an Independent Claims Adjuster 🥴 lol. I took the state exam last year, failed and took a year off. It was so tough! But I'm ready to get back to it. I do disaster FEMA home inspections and I truly love it! So, I figure why not get my adjusters license and go out on my own. Anywho, I know I rambled on lol ✌🏾🌻💞🌱🌬🤗

Hi Shonnie. I enjoyed this video and glad you posted this, it was really informative. I'm looking into a new career and think becoming an Appraiser may be a good fit for me. Question: Was the process finding a mentor challenging in Atlanta? I'm hearing/reading that is the biggest obstacle a lot of trainees face. Also, do you provide mentorship? Thank you.

Thank you Shonnie! This was very informative and helpful. I am also in the metro Atlanta area and considering appraisal as a new career. I love real estate but I was never fully intrigued by becoming an agent. Your video has really put some things into perspective. I appreciate you sharing your journey. Continue being great! 🙌🏾
  • @monkeyloven
Maybe I will do this, thank you for speaking on this.
  • You're incredible! So fun to listen hear your journey about how you became a real estate appraiser! I am getting licensed and having the hardest time finding a supervisor. I appreciate your insights. Looking into the NOREB option. Would NOREB be a good option for me as a white woman? Thank you in advance!
  • @mystart1
Congratulations Shonnie. I know you must be an excellent appraiser. I loved your clear , professional and conversational delivery of this information. Thank you so much for sharing such informative and helpful information. I am definitely interested.🙂
  • @Tierra66
Thank you for the awesome video! What program did you go to in Georgia?
  • Shonnie - greatly appreciate the video. I'm in the Southern Maryland area and have been giving a career change some thought for a number of years. What training school did you use - I've been looking into McKissiok, but wanted to make sure that it's a good one. Take care...

Hey! I just found your page. I have been looking into becoming an appraiser, as ive always had an interest in real estate, but the agent/broker market in our area is overwhelming. My question is, I am a SAhm who also homeschools my 2 children. However, i would love a passion project for myself, as well as a way to financially contribute to the family. Is this a career that offers that kind of flexibility/part time work where i could literally make my own schedule?
  • @itsmeagain6407
Im very interested in this career change. I work so many hrs at my job currently and im missing so much time with my family. Is it a certification thats needed or an ( some) college courses
  • @BWhat0021
Thank you for sharing your story Shonnie! I’m in the Atlanta area as well and I’m looking to making a career shift to being an appraiser. I would like to connect with you and hear more about your transition. Thank you!

Thank you!!!!!!! I always wonder if there is any woman in this business. Is it conflict of interest to have other state licenses such a RE or Mortgage?
