Shadow Systems XR920 - Product Review

Published 2022-12-15
Today we are reviewing the Shadow Systems XR920. With elements of the big three duty carry firearms like a Sig quality trigger, the Smith grip angle and the Glock styling, the Shadow Systems XR920 line has a lot of strengths when it comes to a full sized 9mm carry firearm.

This is a damn good review. He even left contact info and welcomed questions. Good stuff

The reason I purchased the Shadow System is because I was looking for a full sized gun that fit comfortably in the hand. Coming from Smith & Wesson to Shadow Systems it felt like a S&W in the hand.
  • Great review Sir! My MR920 Combat is my daily carry and I love it. I enjoyed my Glock 19 and 45, but they couldn't hold a candle to the MR920. I have a Colt Combat Elite by which I measure any of my handguns' accuracy and I have to say that the MR920 is right there with it. Keep up the great work!
  • This was an excellent review and presentation. Thank you. What grain HP do you prefer in this firearm… 115 or 124?

I just got the eXR920FS version and I am so glad I did! I cannot find a negative review of their guns. Sure, I can find a few flaws that people find, but overall people love this gun! I do hope they will allow us to get an elite slide at a later date. You can already get the fluted barrel if you want but not the slide by it so far!

Thanks for the review. I own the dr920 and I was considering the holosun eps as my new optic as they come in 6 MOA dot size also. Is this an optic you can recommend on this gun? I know Shadow system just came out with a plate for that.
  • How you liking that eps optic? Does it cowitness? Also which dot size and color did you go with? Great review!

I carry my XR as a duty gun as well. I have the entire Shadow Systems line, great guns. You should hit up SS about your barrel wear. Looks a big excessive and they have changed their bronze barrel finish and its alot better now.
  • Thanks for the video! Which backstrap do you believe is closest to a sig p320 angle? The L?
  • @Wesley_Snipez
Thank you sir. quick question. which glock mags are compatible with the XR920?
  • @elprocustoms
Have to get one know just off this video love it

You prefer the Shadow over a OR M&P 2.0 with the Apex trigger? Basically comes out to the same price, if not the M&P is cheaper

There are two camps regarding this pistol. What is like yourself who has had zero mechanical issues even during the break in period and the other camp has had nothing but continuous issues. I have one of these on order as we speak, and I am second-guessing this purchase. I am many many Walther, PDP’s, Glock, Springfield, XDM’s, and other than a light primer strike issue. I’ve never have issues with any of these pistols. I’ve watched many videos were people had nothing but problems.

That’s an EPS not an EPS carry correct? The eps carry has a sight cut in the back. I have both EPS and EPS carry. I just ordered an MR920 and was wondering what the EPS would look like mounted. Does yours co-witness?
  • That’s one of their older barrels? I mean it’s a new gun right? I’m referring to the barrel wear.
  • Never had an issue with either of my SS pistols. Never an issue through the initial break in period. The only people who talk trash about them have never shot one or can't afford one.
