As the Israeli bombardment and invasion of the Gaza strip continues -- and militants continue to launch crude rockets into Israel -- there's relative quiet in the other Palestinian territory, the West Bank. With the conflict focused on the Hamas-run Gaza strip, it's easy to forget the West Bank used to be one of the focal points of resistance against the state of Israel. That may still be the case, but today in the West Bank, there are no rockets being fired into Israel and few demonstrations compared to Jerusalem.

Palestinian security forces, activists, and ordinary Palestinians say this could quickly change. VICE News brings you to the restive city of Hebron, which has historically supported Hamas, to find out if, how, and for how long things can stay this way.

  • Doesn't look like anything is going to get better especially after seeing how interviewees from both sides really didn't care that much about each other's lives.
  • @C.u.d.s
HEY VICE, can you link these "dispatch" series together in the description's box? ie, previous/next videos.
  • I wish there were no wars and no intifadas between Israel and Palestine. In fact, I wish there were no wars around the world. I wish there was peace instead.

Still can't figure out why and how a guy from Brooklyn, having parents from Kansas and Lithuania can lay claim to a piece of real estate in the middle East ! I've got Uzbek ancestry since 1850s and if I show up in Tashkant and stake a claim in a piece of land in Surxandaryo, I'd be labeled a crazy man by the entire world ! But it's totally normal for a new York guy with Lithuanian and Kansas parents to lay claim to a piece of real estate in middle East because of some 2000 year old religious book ? This is retarded to the core
  • wow those settlers look really mentally stable and civilised..why not invite them to every western nation to take other peoples houses and live in them ?

"If Hamas laid down their weapons, then there would be no more violence. If Israel laid down its weapons, then there would be no more Israel."
  • While I understand Israel is doing wrong lets look at the history of the major wars. In 1948 Arab nations declared war and invaded when it was days old and despite being on the brink they won. Then in 1967 Arab nations were plotting so Israel launched massive air attacks decimating the Egyptian and Syrian air forces and conquered the Sinai, West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. Then in 1973 Egypt and other Arab nations invaded yet again and had success at first yet Israel was victorious and still held the Sinai and even had a foothold in Egypt. So after all this Israel has given up Sinai and Gaza to try and have peace and is there? No.

As a great Jedi once said, "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to the dark side".
  • @stanhry
Hamas had a honest moment the car, when he said no palatines would not care about Israeli teenagers.
  • @yitz89
4:26 that's exactly what he meant to say "no Palestinian would condemn the  kidnapping and murder of three teenagers".
