Nice to see news from you. Also that apparently there is no longer a hornet hell.
  • Nice to stumble upon your channel. I have been watching a lot of Japanese bee keeping and am thrilled to find an English speaking channel. Loving the insight you give to Japan beekeeping. Creating that feeding area at the top and a quilt box for winter reminds me of the Warre style hive. Have you considered the Layens style hive. I’m in the Tokyo area and I have built a grass skep from silver grass and bound it with vines split in half or thirds (kudzu) . It out as a bait hive, hoping to catch a swarm. I am so glad that I have found you. Thank you so much!

Great seeing you again. Sorry I didn't know about the hornet hell last year. I hope you can catch some new colonies soon.

Hey I just got a colony of Japanese honeybees with the similar box style hive. I'm in Kanagawa. Are you in Izu? I have almost no clue what to do about them except for observing them. Can they generally manage without the feeding support you think? Following your channel. Cheers
