What does it mean if a rapid antigen test result still comes back positive after five days of isolation due to COVID-19. Health experts say that person is most likely still carrying a viral load that's high enough to infect others. FOX Medical Team's Dr. Mike has some answers.

I had Covid 3 weeks ago & have never felt sicker & more fatigued in my life. It is no joke people .

tested positive for 13 days after positive rapid test. Isolated for the whole time, just in case. But no one was encourage to retest, just isolate 5 days after symptoms lessened - they wanted people back at work regardless

I tested a strong positive on day 10 and still had symptoms. Two days later it was a weak positive and 2 days after that negative. We are required to stay home for 7 days but if you’re still feeling unwell, then give it a few more days.

    This was a great explanation
  • The BEST explanation out there. Don't buy into this 5 day crap the CDC is saying. Listen to this honest doctor!

I’m on day 7/8 right now and my at home antigen tests are still reading very positive. My symptoms have cleared 90%. Just have a bit of a stuffy nose and wet cough that goes away for a bit after blowing my nose. California had a mandatory 5 days off work when you test positive but because my antigen tests are still positive, my manager took me off my next 2 shifts and I can’t return til my Friday shift. Sucks.
  • Had covid a year and a half ago had it again on May 31st. This new variant kicked my butt. I felt super fatigued and has bad cold and flu symptoms
  • Tested positive after 5 days had a Bud Light and retested...came back negative.

Listen to this doctor, as it says behind him he is a "Top Doctor"
  • What's the point in two years I tested negative until I attended a correctional officer academy everyone there was coughing, wiping mucus in napkins it's day 11 and I didn't get any therapy Rx for COVID-19 even after testing positive I was disinfecting and mopping

I have been positive for 14 days so it's horrible.
  • I am so damn confused with this bs!! I had the covid virus and the flu virus at the same time back in July (isolated for 10 days rather than 5). Since then, I have been back to work. I still have a lingering dry cough and a plugged ear. I went to the Dr's office yesterday (08/22/22) to follow up on this damn lingering cough! Tested for the virus and it came up positive the following day (08/23/22). So, I decided to take the home test on (08/24/22), and the crap is negative?!? I'm just waiting for my Dr to return my call.... anyhow, you all take care and be safe!
  • You could get a PCR and look at the cycle threshold. PCR is not fully useless in this sense.

I've tested positive on antigen for 51 days, asymptomatic. Not sure if I'm contagious though since my wife has not caught it from me at home (no mask at home).
