Toadal Drama Island Returns is an animated YouTube series based on the Total Drama series, featuring Mario characters as contestants. Twenty Mario related characters are brought to an island to compete for one million dollars provided by the host of the show, Toad. The contestants are put into teams and compete in challenges against each other. The losing team must go to the elimination ceremony and vote a teammate out. The last contestant standing wins the competition. The Returns is included because it's a spin-off series of Toadal Drama Island. However, it was cancelled after just nine episodes, and it's now known as Season 0. And Returns is now Season 1.

Like Total Drama, there are confessionals where the competitors can say whatever they want to the camera. Confessional videos will be released in the order of how the competitors were eliminated. However, one competitor, Goombella, doesn't have any confessionals, so she will get a short clip in honor of that.
