“I am a musician not a celebrity”. Her music, her body of work speak for themselves.
  • @greysealhugger
Wow, I can't believe the first question was about her appearance (ie weight loss).  The woman has had a 30-year career with incredible success owing to her immense talent, and they bring up her weight loss??  Pathetic.

I like the way she said she's not a celebrity, she's a professional musician.
  • @zedgie68
This woman is a legend. Better than the crap what's out these days.
  • I am really upset that people only think of how she looked, not her voice which was so beautiful!! I am now over 70 and I am still listening to her music and such rosy voice, beautiful and rich and thsts what I want to hear, well done Alison and long live 👏 ❤️

Stop worrying about what she isn’t or what everyone else wanted her to be. She identifies as a professional musician and career woman. Accept how she defines herself and simply enjoy her wonderful voice. Alison, I have loved listening to you through the years. Your music will always have a special place in my heart.

I never ever cared what this amazing singer looked like. She made it on pure raw talent. She was one of my most favorite singers ever. Amazing.
  • @MattPopOfficial
She always seems like a smart, level-headed woman. No bulls*** plus a great sense of humour that's always shining through.

Her speaking voice is so deep, velvety and rich! omg!!

When I heard her voice in 84 I was hooked. Excellent artist... fast forward 2019 she's still got it. 🙏 blessing

Answering such dumb dumb questions with such intelligence, Alison, you are great. Not because of your music [ which is very very good ] but because of who you are. Respect.
  • @herbayum76
She sang 'that ole devil...' in such a way it became a standard hardly any artist since could surpass. A beautiful rich voice and a great arrangement.
  • @supermeninc93
Well said Alison.  Listen with your ears and not your eyes
  • @ranstra12
She was beautiful then and beautiful now.

Following the retrospective clip at the beginning the female nobody presenter might just as well have said "You used to be fat!". What a crass opening to an interview with an artist. I'm glad Alison pointed out that it was interesting that after a 30 year artistic career the first thing people would comment on is her appearance. I hope that put the decorative nobody in her place. Alison was one of the best singers of the era. I can't find it on YouTube but I think one of her best tracks was "Baby I Do". I have it on a vinyl single. Awesome.

Wow, Alf held her ground with that opening question with smiles and subtle retort. Nicely played Alison, I dont think the interviewer realised you were gently putting her in her place. And quite rightly. 30 years of hard work, classic vocals, unforgettable songs and putting Basildon on the map....and they open with that?
  • Moyet’s beautiful voice and songs she did are timeless. I wish YAZOO didn’t stop too soon.
