man, not an NC state fan but you cant not like a story like this, hitting the buzzer beater to make it to the finals in the first place and then beating your 1 seed rivals as the 10 seed to win it, movie worthy run

I graduated from NC State in '82 and the Cardiac Pack had to win the tournament to get into the NCAAs. Couldn't be prouder of these guys.

I never went to school there, but I've been a faithful fan of NC State basketball and football ever since I was old enough to watch sports. I've often wondered why us State fans are so passionate even when we don't win anything, and get met with disappointment year after year, and it's because of stuff like this. We don't ever put the most talented teams out there, but often they've got the most heart. They're often the forgotten team but they have a chip on their shoulder and bring a toughness that's inspiring. They have a legacy of being the David that can take down Goliaths. And when we finally win, man is it sweet!

Wolfpack! Never seen a team with more heart than this bunch. They deserved this!

I’m 38 years old and I’ve been a diehard State fan since the day I was born. Also a State grad. I was in tears last night like many others here. What our boys did is truly special….we defied all odds to win that title. That takes something that can’t be taught. You have to believe. Jimmy V would be running around looking for someone to hug…. Enjoy it Wolfpack nation, enjoy it. Whatever happens next is pure gravy.

I was privileged enough to be raised in a house full of Wolfpack fans and saw them win in 1987 with Jim Valvano. That was a special win. This last week has worn me out. My emotions were all over the place afraid something was going to happen to take them out of the tourney. Tonight was beautiful! So happy to see the boys in red taking this trophy home! I’m happy for Coach Keats as well. Much deserved, guys! I’m most happy that you beat those Tarheels. Those are my favorite victories. Go Pack 🎉🏀🏆🐺
