“You could’ve just asked” Goddamn man that hit me way to hard
  • Starting to think that the thing is just becoming the new spiderman at this point. Hell he even got the symbiote at one point

In context; "Scans ain't gonna pick up where I'm hurt" is one of the rawest lines in comics...

Remember: If the writers give a sad character a lover, you should be absolutely terrified

"You think I'm some freak who's into monsters?" Honestly, considering the post internet world? I don't doubt the Thing would have many online simps.

The fact she cries after hearing him say "You could have just asked..." that shows at least in my view she realises she's a horrible person and knows she cannot undo the damage done.
  • Getting punched by World War Hulk would be far less painful than what Jennifer did. At least Hulk is honest and straightforward.

God I hate seeing the Thing be treated this dirty.😩🐱

One thing I don't get is why, in the Marvel Universe - where there are so many mutants and aliens and other strange creatures - the Thing is seen by the public as an unspeakable monster. I'd wager he's less frightening looking than many who don't get the same "ahhhh, monster!" storylines
  • At first I was like, damn, why didn’t you take a piece off your foot or something? But then I realized he took a piece by his heart, so I got that symbolism.

Ben dating someone that isn't Alicia? Yeah that's the first hint that something is gonna go wrong.

The most unrealistic part of this is that there are apparently NO monster-F’ers in this universe. Seriously, Ben should have veritable legions of them ready to jump his rocks.

Some Marvel Heroes like the Thing and the X-Men are like the retail workers of the Marvel Universe, they do their intended job and still get shit from civilians for it.
  • @How_SpXdez
How does the Thing do the Thing, while doing the Thing in the Thing?
  • @varelmarais2222
Everyone talks about how shitty Spidey's life is but Thing's usually up there in terms of suffering
  • @MyAramil
"You think i'm some freak that is into monsters" Lady. There is only one monster here, and it isn't the man standing in front of you.
  • @Nocraza_Kram
He metaphorically ripped out his heart by taking the rock that's placed over it. That's the cherry on top that makes this story truly spectacular.

It's also pretty sad that his only real girlfriend is a literal blind woman. In order for The Thing to find happiness, he has to be with someone who is incapable of seeing his form and is forced to see the man on the inside. Ben is a representation of the extremely self-conscious person who always feels out of place. No one sees him, and when they do, they want him to go away/run from him. His friends are all amazing with powers they can turn off and on at will while he's forever stuck being ugly. They get all the positive attention and he gets all the negative. It's no wonder the guy is depressed all the time.
