Just reading the phrase ‘back to day one’ helps me stay sober.

It's a horrible beast! It puts your arm around you everytime and whispers, 'This is fine.' Thank you for your candor, mate

I remind myself that drinking was never fun when I did it - towards the end I never got that euphoria, I only ever got drunk and felt terrible. So if I ever feel like drinking I know that there's no fun to it. I'll be back at square one, drinking this horrible stuff and not having any high or any fun. 18 months sober here.

6 months sober and off to Spain skydiving. Temptation to drink will be there. Having the awareness to acknowledge my triggers yet not act on them, will only strengthen my resolve and self discipline. There are no exceptions.

You give people hope. Your honesty keeps me sober, we all slip, but i believe once your on that sober path, you truly want to stay on it. Every thing you say i can relate to. All the best mate ⭐

I lasted 9 weeks no drinking then decided to have some beers already new it wasn’t going to be good but had a fuck it moment . I’m glad I did it to be honest cause it just reaffirmed that it’s not for feel . Felt horrible and wasn’t enjoyable at all . Stay strong everyone

You haven't fucked up pal just start again your body will remember how good it was to be sober and you'll be back in the groove stay strong fella.

Glen, thanks for been so brave, its not easy being honest when we have fucked up. Like i mentioned to you i was 10yrs sober, like you i used to think the people that kept going back to it was so weak. No im the one that is weak, keep getting sober, but the hard part is staying sober. All them alcoholic thoughts & feelings of guilt & regret are there everytime i pick up, but i still keep doing it. Trying my best to keep it 1 day at a time at the mo, i have the drinking demon sat on my shoulder most days, its a battle every single day with the drink & food for me. Stay strong just for today. Xx
  • thanks for that honest description of what has happened to you. Its educating me more about who I am as an alcoholic Im 30 weeks sober and for me I dont want to drink ever again but listening to what you have been saying I know I need to take one day at a time. Very powerful words you have been saying, and I hope you get back on track you done amazing for 16 months so youve proved to yourself you have the strength. good luck pal
  • Sometimes it takes quite a few setbacks to get sober. I’m nearly 6 months alcohol free again. Drinking will never be fun anymore. Thanks for your honesty, It will all work out if you really want it.
  • @vetreferee
It took courage to make this video Glen. I'm sure it will help a lot of people. Good luck whatever you decide. If you decide you need more convincing, remember those of us who are alcoholics are here for you. Come back /go back anytime
  • Praying for you friend, I just started following your channel a few weeks ago but now I am checking daily for an update.  I hope you can get going again - don't beat yourself up!
  • @aaronhowardjudd
The fact you've put the video up means you what to get back on track. Brave man for sharing.
  • This video still helps us. I am 80 days. It helps me from getting complacent. I’d probably do the same as you. Drink a bit and I’d be back at square one with my thinking and habits. Thanks for sharing
  • This was heartbreaking, after just discovering the last videos. I'm still very grateful for your transparency. Further up and further in. I hope you are doing well now.
  • Well done for documenting this is insightful helpful and still inspiring in terms of your honesty. And that 16months has put you in bloody good stead it’s not written off. Just jump back on the good horse and give day counting a break for a while if it’s possible. Your not failing. Still winning from what I see
