The Brulay battery, is located less than 7km from the end of the harbor of Cherbourg, to the East.

Built from 1936 until 1938 by the French it would have had 4 194 mm guns. M1902 from decommissioned WWI French warships.
these were intended to block the road to any naval attack, as well as the defense of the Maupertus airfield.
This would all be controlled by a OP that would have had telemeters on three levels.

During the German occupation it was integrated into the German Atlantic wall.

I think that bunkers should stay clean and in orginally case without drawings.
  • @AOL0321
That’s horrible what those Hippie street artists were allowed to do, to those bunkers. They desecrated hallowed ground.
  • I hate how all these thugs have ruined the bunker with their drawings.....
  • @cinemadario
Imagine going to a museum and paint spraying a graffiti on a tiger tank, because this is the same.... that bunker is a historical piece

At one of the more intact Battery Todt casemates near Calais, the original Grafiti that was done by the German soldiers stationed there were damaged by thugs painting over them.

Sorry for all the comments. Just wanted to add that this was a really well put together video :) Hope to see more like this one in the future 👍

Thank you for sharing, I agree some Artist should use non historical canvases ❤️ Is that a Starbucks Coffee or Local Brew🤔
  • @Virgin_Stacker
That was very interesting. I did see some bunkers on Denmarks coastline, only a very few had any original paint or markings on the walls, even fewer kept clean.
  • @dxrinc
Would be kool if you could "computer generate" what they looked like (fully operational) back in 1944....
  • @LukeMerola
Those cheap ass vandals ruining those historical bunkers 🤬
  • @mcducklingZK
I hate how they draw the bunker, they destroy history
  • Great video! It seems that history in a lot of these places is really only important anymore when there is money to be made. The titanic struggle and the human cost of that struggle, and that men from other countries sacrificed themselves to free your country are frequent forgptten.
  • Too nice video with clearly explaining and nice footage thanks friend 👍
  • Annoyed is an understatement!! I feel it 100% vandalism for street artist but, also when the allies decided to not keep it in tack for future generations to be able to enjoy instead of becoming an eye sore especially once the locals got done hastily tear many structures apart for really nothing more than revenge! The art work is most cases is fantastic! However, it’s an historic structure and needs to be respected as such..
