You know older animes used to have yoki as main enemies or final ones… one piece came out around that time so these demon gods were probably planned from the early days of the series.

Imagine gorosei and imu sama being good people at the start and also being part of joyboy's inner circle. But the god fruits they ate corrupted them and made them betray joyboy and other allies. They probably backstabbed joyboy and killed him on the spot and some of the joyboy's allies made weapons to destroy red line after imu massacred the lunarians and rest of the allies got into imu's lies and joined her. Nefertari D. i think they got it right.. im convince with most of this but with usopp and nami.. im pretty sure aside from monster trio the strawhats wont solo the gorosei.. they would probably need help from others, but that is something i wont know, we'll just have to wait and see

What if back in joy boys era the gorosei served him (because he was the sun god) and actually embodied their traits with their god fruits but when they betrayed him the traits of their fruits changed to the inverse and they now had demon god fruits instead of god fruits
