It’s the uncomfortable choreography, it’s the drip, it’s the color scheme, it’s the loneliness, it’s the cowboy Kenny era and I LOVE IT.
This album made me realize how many traumas, triumphs, and love a person can experience in one life ; the growth, the self-doubt, I feel it all when I listen to Mr Morale.
Kendrick Lamar’s music has always been out at moments in my life when I needed introspection and it never failed to help me understand who I am and what I want my path to be
There's a reason everybody loves Kendrick's music. He's a true musical genius.
Love how Kendrick continues to push his artistry. Aesthetics, Fit, Word play, Persona. We are witnessing greatness unfold ✨
Every music video K-dot's put out this year has been brilliant. In this one, he's constantly wearing expensive clothing and diamonds with no one to see it. He's dancing to his own song, but the dance looks lonely, stutter-ey, kinda tired. He seems tired even though he's not doing anything. Each room, no matter how fancy is another box. Covid was such a claustrophobic experience. His reflection in the mirror is fractured, chopped up glass frames. Even the piano is alone without other instruments and we never even see him play it. All the windows are shut. Each scene lacks natural lighting. Really there's nothing natural at all, yet he's free by himself. After telling us about his struggles with sex addiction, there's no one around who can satisfy the itch, which is empowering but also makes him sit with his loneliness. He's separated himself form celebrity life and rediscovering which versions of himself are truly himself. His wife and children never appear in the video, increasing that sad feeling of killing time by yourself, but also having to sit with yourself and figure out what you're missing. There's so much to every one of these videos.
This is why you're one of the greatest artist on the planet. Being vulnerable, true to yourself in isolation & comfortable in your skin no matter how it goes.
I like how this videos depicts his isolation and him avoiding social interaction. He understands that solitude is healthier for his spirit in the long run but it's clearly taking a bigger toll on him than he expected.
He clearly loves the freedom being alone gives him, but still craves community. This is symbolised by the phone or a knock that LITERALLY snaps him out of his groove. As if social relations disturb his peace which is hella relatable.
EDIT: Did not expect 400 likes, thanks guys.
This paints such a good and vivid picture of the concept that money can't buy happiness. You can feel the richness and the loneliness at the same time
As a film student, Kendrick is an amazing source of inspiration. The shots, the color, the dance, the editing, everything is CLEAN.
Kendrick never fails to prove why he is the best!!
Kendrick Lamar will never repeat himself with his album sound, he’s always evolving and that’s just impressive on it’s own, that’s why we always look forward to his albums.
I love Kendrick. His artistry, the words he says, his spirituality, his KDOT side, the way he will rap about God & how he speaks to angels, he doesn’t disappoint when it comes to his music bc he seems to rap from his spirit so of course this is a vibe. It’ll never be another Kendrick.
It’s funny how I was dancing like this to the song before the visual . ❤ he’s in a mansion all alone with a home phone aka land line . The concept is deep . Basically nobody is home . I love it . 😢 the phone is not connected cause he feels disconnected. Nobody is listening to him when he speak . They do their own thing . So he fasting from the toxic ppl. “ I pray to god she knows them Cabo trips don’t last forever “ he wrote this before a girl was killed in Cabo by her “ friends” . Kendrick is so intuitive. Not saying he knew that would happen. But the fact that he knows how the ppl in this world can kill you. Even those close to you.
Man if this ain't that relatable state of mind, the state of loneliness but also kind of enjoying your own company, I don't know what is. Overthinking everything when alone, the deep true thoughts, the random dance you do to when no one is watching to release the stress, the anxiety. Thinking about life-good and bad. Kendrick will take you on a journey and make you feel a certain way, a true artist, a true gem. KDOT a real one🔥
People just take Kendrick's genius for granted... he's such a singular artist.
Mr. Morale is an absolute masterpiece!
If Mr Morale himself doesn't win the Grammy, that's it for the Grammys. We know he already won in our hearts
Kendrick lamar e foda sem palavras💥❤
Man if he doesn't win all types of awards this year something is wrong with the music industry. He's a musician lyrical genius.
This song on the album symbolizes a spirit of richness that makes him feel alone the broke phone symbolizes him not being able to connect to his spirituality hence the reason why his wearing the crown of thorns. At the end the phone ringing symbolizes that the connection to his spirituality is coming back. It's a deep song many layers to this the awkwardness in this video is used to show how the "rich spirit" is changing his perception ( almost as if his going insane) hence the reason why he was talking to himself on the mirror.
THE STORY LINE🎉 I WATCHED LIKE 12 TIMES❤
