I like that you include the ambient noise for the engine and cabin, too many YouTubers just pipe in the ATC static, and you lose the feel of the minute power adjustments and AOA.

What I love about your videos....no stupid music..just flying and listening to the engine and the wind. Wish I could hear your radio calls,

Fantantastic! I flew in and out of an airport with 1793 ft. plus displace threshold with a Piper Arrow and a TB- 20 . Kudos to you, make it look to easy!

I based my first airplane, a Cessna 182, at this airport. I have been in and out of the Lake Wohlford airport many times.

That's a REAL instrument panel... love it!

Nice job. I though you managed your descent rate, power, and track very well. Good approaches make good landings.

Good job. While the Cherokee has less effective flaps than the C-172, the short high lift wings catch a higher percentage of prop blast than does the longer Cessna wings with less camber. Deceleration on short final to sink enough to bring the throttle into dynamic play is effective. We can nail glide angle and rate of descent with dynamic throttle. Also we can use apparent the increase in the apparent rate of closure with the numbers to nail it by keeping that apparent rate as slow as it appears farther from the numbers. Thus we touch down well below Vso, an out of ground effect number, early on the runway rather than bleed off airspeed well down the runway. Good job.
  • Great job! I used to frequent this airport in the late 60s to mid-70s (C-140 and C-172). It wasn't private/restricted then and it was entertaining to watch "out-of-towners" make 2 or 3 go-arounds and then give up.

Nicely done. Love the vids with raw sound.

Used to use this airport to demonstrate the landing capabilities of the Helio Courier. Fun place!

This would be a fun airport to land at. I like flying the Cherokee, great view when turning base.

Nice job sticking it in at Lake Wolford, a tight little airport.
  • Fun little private airport. Dick Martin flew his Cessna 195 out of there for years. Also a Bonanza based there. Remember it is a private airport!

    Nice stabilised approach.....nice flying....nice safe landing......love it..!!

Nice. Have you tried a steeper approach angle there, and slipping? I used to do a lot of them when I had a PA140 for short strips. Interestingly, seems it was easier to slip the Cherokee than the Champs, Funks, Tcrafts, Avid Flyer I've had since.
