New Mac user here. This channel is helping me a lot, I was afraid my productivity drop too much changing OS but it seems to be not the case. Thank you.

This is one of the most concise and comprehensive video tutorial on anything I've watched. I learned a lot from it (plus, btw, I also "assign" desktops to apps in the order they're on my dock so I know what I'm swiping left or right to).
  • Gary! We're so lucky to have you mate!! You are the GO-TO Mac resource, and the competition isn't even close bro! ☺️ So... thank you!

Yet again you make our lives easier and better by helping us to better use digital apple tools. Thanks !
  • After 1 year with my MacBook Air, I can now say that I know 100% how to use Mission Control - Very good tutorial! Thanks!

Gary, this is a timesaver for sure. I never used Mission Control much except for using the 3 fingers on trackpad. Now that you explained the shortcuts and reasons to have a 2nd or 3rd desktop, I am already saving time with Safari on 1 desktop, Mail on another and so on. Using the 4 finger swipe was new to me. Had no idea that existed or the "control error" shortcut. Fantastic! 👏🏼

Thank you for this concise tutorial. I am a longtime Mac user but never felt I was efficiently managing multiple application windows. You've provided the tips and tricks I was looking for.

Great session - very clear and to the point, no unnecessary chit-chat. Thanks!
  • I've been a mac user for years and this was still extremely helpful, I've forgotten a lot of these gestures. Also: I don't think I've ever seen a video on YouTube without any dislikes. 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you for your very informative video. I have been an avid Mac user for more than twelve years, but have never really used Mission Control to utilize various screens. I am changing that as of today! Thanks!
  • Amazing! This is great. I teach social media and share my screen a lot for class. This way I can share my entire desktop and just switch desktops without closing anything to show various social media platforms. THANK YOU

Coming from years of Linux and recently switching to Mac, I really like the spaces (or workspaces). I don't find the Mission Control particularly useful though, as I prefer to set hotkeys for the number of spaces I use (in my case 5) which makes it way faster to switch between them than swiping or pressing F3 and clicking. As for moving an app, I just click and hold on the title bar and press the hotkey for the desktop I want to move it to (in my case Ctrl+1-5). Also, when I have the hotkeys assigned, my Mac always boots up with 5 spaces after reboot, and I can assign apps to always start up on specific spaces through the dock, really neat. Great video Gary, keep 'em coming!

I discovered virtual terminals in Linux and was delighted to find them implemented on my Mac. I changed the setting in trackpad preferences and use three fingers to swipe right and left. I always have nine 'Desktops' set up, each with a different macOS or Star Wars backdrop so I always know where I am. Control-1 will go to the first screen, control-2 will go to the second, if you don't want to waste time control-arrowing around, just jump directly. I used to always use the trackpad gesture to bring up Mission Control, but to move a window to another Desktop, just drag it across. I only use that top window to see where everything is. It's fun to drag a bunch of files on one Desktop (always THE Desktop) to a program running on another Desktop.
  • This is an excellent tutorial. I'm actually a Windows and Linux user. The reason I'm watching this is because I have a Comptia A+ exam and I need to learn some basic MacOS utilities. Thank you so much.

@Gary, Wow I’m blown away with this Mission Control tutorial! Have used an iMac for 20 years, but never known about all these things in Mission Control that can make daily use of my iMac so much easier. Getting my current iMac ready for migration to new 2021 iMac. Can you do a tutorial on iMac to iMac migration? Looking forward to your in-depth review of 2021 iMac. ThankU.
