FIRST TIME hearing Dimash Kudaibergen - SOS

Let me help you. I am an 86 year classically trained singer with a four octave range and, when I first heard Dimash I was blown away!! I have never heard a male voice with a six octave range in my life! The back story on Dimash is fascinating. He is a first born son in Kazakhstan and, in their culture, the first born son is raised by the grandmother. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a well known singer. Because he showed he loved music from an early age, his grandmother had him classically trained from the age of five (5). The world first heard of him in approximately 2017. SOS was written in 1978 by a Frenchman named Michael Berger and, the song was an omage to a young friend with a wide range that passed away. It was deliberately written with a range that most singers could not reach. It was written in French and a perfect song for Dimash. JIm Kelly

None of us have EVER gotten over that. This was the first song I ever heard him sing and so I seek out anyone seeing him for the first time singing THIS song. I have never heard someone with the range he has, the delicate higher register and the powerful chest voice. It truly is a testament to what the human voice is capable of. Loved your reaction.

What cracks me up is those were not whistle notes for Dimash. Watched a pro review this. she pointed out that it was just a hair under whistle. She was the 1st to appreciate just from this song what Dimash was truly capable of.
