Using my formula will allow you to get the size of basket you want for your projects.
This rectangle shaped basket with rounded corners will allow for 3 large TP rolls or whatever you want to store in your basket.
This rope basket requires no sewing machine as it is all glued together.
Full step by step video so you can make this basket too.

  • I'm not sure if you realize this, but I joined several different "Rope Bowl" Facebook groups and so many people recommend your channel for new ideas and for beginners. Just thought I'd let you know😊
  • @alethea9778
very beautiful!! your teaching style is easy to follow. I like that you show every little thing you need to do.
  • Love it. I would suggest that leave some space for that beautiful driftwood showing in middle of handle though.
  • @anneo3754
Beautiful bowl! Great tutorial, thank you. 😊
  • Another video, awesome. I’ve tried to do baskets but for some reason they look weird. I’ll give this one a try, love it.
  • @willebij
    Good instructions, enjoyed watching it.

Love this basket!! I was thinking that a person could sew the bottom and then glue the sides to start the straight edge and then once it’s started you could sew. Just thinking that it would go faster. Not sure if that would work! Thanks for the great video and instructions!!!
  • There is a product called Stiffen, a spray on. I habe used it on 2 of my bowls and like the results. The sides of the rope bowls get firm. might want to compare the 2 products. I will make this hold. Great idea.
  • Beautiful Basket - I have to ask - how did you get the glue off your cutting mat ? And - did the tackiness go away on the basket. AND - have you tried to make this sewing it together? Thanks for the wonderful Video !!!
  • @Marleen131
I’m wondering if the tackiness of the mod podge and fabric fusion lessened or went away after a few days. Can you let us know please? Love your tutorials! Very clear and thorough instructions. Thank you so much! Also, I see your videos are recommended to watch in the rope bowl groups I’ve joined. I recommend your videos often as well. In my opinion, you make the absolute best tutorials. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. ❤
  • This is genius! Thanks for explaining how to make the size you want. It makes total sense! I love that fabric glue. I use this and beacon fabric-tac glue and am wondering if you’ve tried it. It’s kinda my go to and dries much faster than aleens fabric glue and is just as strong…..though doesn’t dry shiny. Just curious?

Great video Patti - was wondering if you considered gluing with a hot glue gun? Would have to be very careful so it doesn't show, but I was thinking that may make the sides firmer, making them stand up and it sets up so fast you wouldn't need clips.. All that gluing would drive me nuts! I think I will definitely sew bottom and top lid and then glue all the vertical portions. Seems like the mod podge would further strengthen the sides. You are the best teacher on YouTube!!
  • @luckyduckie2000
I love the basket. It's been a few days since you posted, any update on the stickiness?
  • @momrow10
Could you sew until you get to sides? Glue the next few and then sew the rest one the correct angle is obtained.
  • Question, do you think it would work if you sewed the bottom, then glued only one or two rows to get you started on the correct angle and then sew again for the rest of the height?
