The "Vaggie unsuccessfully talks Charlie out of something" started in the OG Pilot! She literally tells Charlie not to let Alastor in, and Charlie IMMEDIATELY lets him in!

I just realized that Vaggie is Pearl from Steven Universe if she never learned self love.

I feel the lack of presentation of Vaggie’s personality is what limits their relationship. Charlie is the “optimist” and Vaggie is the “knight”. Charlie being challenged with heaven’s rejection kinda allowed us to see another side of her but Vaggie feels like Charlie’s “second voice” like the equivalent of shouting “yeah” to agree :/

My biggest problem with chaggie is that Vaggie becomes a WAY more interesting character when she's interacting with other people , AND I HATE IT 'cause Vaggie is one of my favorite characters , but she never gets to DO anything relevant when she's with Charlie ( Charlie has the exact same problem for me)

I'm hoping Vaggie will get a "learn who I am without you" arc in season 2 that helps flesh her out more. I love her exasperated team mom energy with the rest of the cast.

Bob and Linda from bob's burgers are 90% about supporting each other too. But they're interesting because of how dramatically different they are personality-wise, which complement each other perfectly

Tbh as someone who watched the show without outside context I didn't even know they were dating. I thought Vaggie had a crush on Charlie and she didn't reciprocate and thought of her as a friend. Until someone told me they were established being together .

Chaggie was honestly much more likable in the pilot, like I actually shipped them in the pilot! In the show I couldn’t care less about their relationship.

I can't tell what's worse: waiting an entire series for a ship to happen, or for it to happen before the end, only for the couple to be toxic at worse, or uninteresting at best.

The problem with Vaggie is that if you take Charlie away from her, there's nothing really interesting about her left. Her goals are all related to Charlie, protecting her and making her happy. It's like she isn't really her own person, she's just there to orbit around Charlie.

It's all about balance. Too many filler episodes can be boring, but they have purpose. No filler makes the story rushed, which makes reveals and story points meaningless because we don't care enough about the characters.

Ironically Charlie is a perfect metaphor for the issues with the show. She’s all about plot and getting the storyline going, never having much time at all for character growth or moments with the other regulars.

Hopefully season 2 will give them more time and development.
