i had this happen to me (what happened to the first dude, sandy), the pain is unbearable as the air leaving your punctured lung is filling your body and pushing all of your organs into your ribcage. if it wasn't for the air ambulance and staff i'd be dead today and every year i raise money for the air ambulances who saved my life. god bless these absolute miracle workers!!
  • The level of classiness of the doctor entering the first ambulance "Hello, how are you doing- is it alright if we pop in?" Really sets a tone for dealing with a situation with a level head and overall good communication!
  • Not moving out of the ambulance's way is illegal in Germany. It costs you a lot of money and can even lead to being imprisoned. How do people not understand that seconds of delay can cause a person's death?!
  • It's so unfair how these patients were not at fault, young and minding their own business yet such trauma will effect them for a lifetime.

Felt very sorry for Sandy. Must have been awful for this to happen when he's so far from home, and ashamed of the person from my country who did it. Hope he recovered well, and that the mental scars heal well too.

We saw this done at the roadside in the middle of Sydney's CBD at 1am. It started with cpr and the patient was fitting. He had gone right under a bus and the Fireies had airbags under it within minutes. There must have been 50 people watching and lots had mobile phone torches on. They worked frantically for 20 minutes and the resus was brutal. Finally his vital signs stabilised. Both paramedics were in the back for the trip to hospital. A policement drove the ambulance. When the trolley went into the ambulance a great cheer went up and some people were weeping. It was one of the most dramatic interventions I have seen and I was in the military. These people are not paid enough. But thats changing fortunately.
  • The calm competence of the NHS Emergency Room workers is amazing. Calm self-assurance can be the difference between life and death, and it is amazing to watch these professional care-givers perform at the top of their game. While I usually think of medical care as science, these folks here elevate it to the level of art; they offer a human touch that transcends the mere knowledge upon which the tasks they perform are based.

I feel so sorry for these people I can’t imagine the pain they are going through. Thank goodness for the quick caring doctors.

Sandy is such a sweetheart. I hope he’s doing better and living an amazing life!

I had two collapsed lungs in a car accident and I was in a coma so I don't remember them doing any of this, but judging by the scars, I had 3 chest tubes... and seeing how they do them really freaks me out... wow...
  • For the young man from France..how TERRIFYING! To be in a foreign country speak limited amount of the language and to be attacked but have been horrible!!!!
  • "My gut feeling is that he needs to get to a hospital, quickly" Damn, you don't say. That was gold

TBI to frontal lobe is not a joke. I sustained one when I was 24, while preparing for graduate school, and it had serious affects on my memory and concentration for a good six months. First semester of my master's degree was difficult because of the recovery.
  • How can someone stab a person ? Over NOTHING most likely. I pray this young man survives & gets all the support he needs 🙏🙌🏽🙏
  • I had an accident, got run over by a tractor. Broke 6 ribs my spleen was abit smashed and causing internal bleeding and punctured a lung as well. The paramedics and all the emergency staff were amazing. I recovered pretty well in 6 weeks and was back working on the farm again. Can't thank the front line enough for the work they do.
  • Everyone in the medical team for emergencies do such a tremendous job saving lives.
  • @Mossyz.
Aww that French guy . He seems so genuine and nice .

Simon made me sad because it reminded me that my stepdad's brother died last year falling off his roof while doing some work on it. Fortunately he and his sister were able to fly across the country to see him before he died.
