The out-of-control defendant who leaped over the bench to attack a judge appeared back in court. Deobra Redden appeared in court wearing a spit hood and his hands were in shackles with special coverings. Six court officers stood at the ready if he tried anything. Redden also faced the same judge he attacked when he made that flying tackle over the bench. Judge Mary Kay Holthus sentenced Redden to a minimum of 19 months in prison for attempted battery.

He literally proved the judges point on why he should go back to jail.

TO CLEAR THINGS UP - he will go to court for attacking the judge and likely get another sentence added on. They can't just add his recent attack to the ongoing process for many reasons including you can't have the person you attacked be the judge for the case - for obvious reasons

Honestly, the judge deserves some credit for returning. I'm sure that attack was traumatic.

I like how she used "interrupted" - like he was a ringtone going off in the middle of her sentencing

Remember this is just the sentence he was receiving before he attacked the judge. He'll receive a different hearing and a different sentence for that from a different judge for obvious conflict-of-interest reasons.

Seriously made me think what an idiot when he first appeared and said he’s in a different mindset now and 2 seconds later jumps on the judge. Glad the judge is ok and could sentence him.

He was happily trying to hug the judge 😊
  • The fact he had a spit hood, shackles on his hands, and 8 officers by him shows how dangerous he is to not be in prison.

He's going to get way more for attacking that judge than he got for that attempted battery he was originally sentenced for.

She's very professional that she didn't use personal bias to increase his sentence when nobody would have blamed her for doing so. That's actually pretty inspiring integrity.

The way he jumped and moved his body around that desk the guy had a future in pole vaulting!

They got him looking like a Batman villain
  • @yunyunlee
This dude simply proved that he cannot be rehabilitated and totally deserves imprisonment 🙄
  • "I Will not change the original sentence... You will get the original 2 life sentences you were gonna get buddy"
  • @WharGhoul_
How much you want to bet he called his treatment racist
  • @sh0t0kan
he got that crazy over 19 months!? Now being a repeat offender who is currently incarcerated he is facing years with his new assault charges that hasn't hit the system yet.
  • I still can't believe how he was able to jump over that. Very high desk like honestly that's impressive physical strength
