Turning heads and ticking off Ford purists, the rule-breaking, all-steel widebody 1970 Fastback Ford Mustang, with its 625 horsepower aluminum block stroker 427ci LS3, was designed after the TransAm race cars from the late 60s and early 70s. The Ruffian Mustang is artist Chris Ashton's first car build, which has propelled him into the automotive spotlight. Nicole takes an autocross Detour in the "Boss 427", properly experiencing its T56 Super Magnum transmission, Hoosier racing slicks, lowered front control arms, 3-link rear suspension, and g-force meter at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

  • Another masterful, emotionally intelligent, gearhead conversation among instant friends! LOVE THIS!
  • @mchristr
The mechanicals are cool but the metal work is crazy. It's clear that Kris understands the aesthetic of a pony car. Insanely well done.
  • @frenchpressme
The most unique auto show on YouTube. And the interview skills are top notch, Nicole never gets in the way of the story and the car owner. She asks great questions and most importantly she gives us car geeks all the details we want to hear.
  • @neverender158
To only be 2 seconds slower than the owner of the car after a few tries just proves Nicole knows what she is doing. These videos are so fun to watch.
  • This girl is a badass! Drove really fast from the get-go! That mustang looks amazing!
  • @markbigbadbear
That car sounds amazing. I don't care how old you are or where in the world you live. If the sound of an American V8 doesn't get your heart pumping, you probably kick puppies too. Great car, Chris sounds like a cool human being. Love the genuine enthusiasm Nichole brings to each and every episode :)
  • I love how calm Chris stayed while being driven in his own car, and Nicole was amazing!!! Too many great talking points in the video to list... Thank you for this. Amazing!
  • @andrewr1084
What an absolute Legend. He has complete understanding of what he is doing, and executes it with surgical elegance...
  • @NigelMarston
That car sounds AMAZING. Chris has built something truly impressive there and Nicole treated it absolutely properly.

You can't reinvent the wheel but you Nicole are showing us how to reinvent the car show. One word: Brilliant. Favorite Nicole moment? All of them!
  • @KensGarage1
Wow. What an awesome car. The builder clearly knows what he is doing. I really enjoyed the video.
  • @joebacarella2829
What a build, talk about someone understanding how to build a car for the sport, spot on. Boy would I love to have a fully finished interior of this car built for the street, that motor sounds fantastic, love the widebody look of it, amazing.
  • @Wayne_Nero
That is some great driving!! I love the sound of that mustang, what a beauty!! Wow!!
  • @xtremev1
I met Chris a while back, just such a nice person wanting to share his cars and how he made them, and the thought process around them. The mustang and the gt40 in particular are some of the nicest and most beautiful cars out there
  • @lukelambert4595
That mustang and gt40 are in a world of their own. Every time I see them on here I screenshoot pics of them. They are absolutely amazing. Two of my favorite cars in the world.
  • @strokerace3584
Cudos for staying cool with someone else driving your dream car. I know you were screaming on the inside. Awesome vehicle sir!
  • You're a natural Nicole! Well driven! Chris is one of my favorite peeps, he's so damn humble and has built some EPIC cars. Keep up the good work both of you.
  • @robertrohr3990
What a ride! In my youth my Dad took me to numerous gymkhana events and he also raced his various sports cars in SCCA events. Riding with you reminded me of the many ride alongs I had with him. Way to go Nicole!♥
  • @Vforfreedom
This is a superhuman. This guy. Superior intelligence to be able to do all of this stuff and paint too
  • @scottca9780
That might be the best sounding car I've ever heard. Maybe just the best sound I've ever heard.
