Meet Bobby, the man driving from the UK all the way to Australia!
In this video, Bobby tells us his story of how things in his life unfolded to this very moment, the weeks prior to setting off on this epic journey he has ahead of him!

He tells us how the lows and hard times in life, are the perfect opportunity for change, as he explains that he would of never left his 'comfortable life' to chase a dream, it was only when a relationship in his life fell apart, followed by months of misserery, propelled him to the point of change, adventure and happiness!

Bobby spent every day working on this dream, converting the truck and planning for the trip ahead!
We definitely know why the truck has the nickname 'Boujee Appartment on wheels' stick around for the tour, where Bobby shows us inside and out, as well all the the cool features and fancy touches that makes this truck feel like a classy home on wheels!

Thanks to Bobby for meeting up with us, sharing his story, and giving us a look around! We wish him and Red all the best on their travels.

Hi from Australia. Coming from someone who has travelled a lot. Just be mindful that countries have their own rules about bringing in animals. If your going through East Asian countries such as Thailand. Unfortunately you will not be able to bring Red into Australia after that. Make sure countries you are travelling through are not on the list that will prohibit you from bringing in Red. Also bringing him into Oz is time consuming and expensive and he will have to be quarantined for 10 days in a facility. Just wanting to make you aware so you are prepared. Good luck. ETA: The process to bring a dog into Oz must start 7 months prior. The main factor is that Australia requires your pet to have a rabies neutralising antibody titre test at least 180 days before travelling to Australia. And this test needs to be done 3-4 weeks after your pet is vaccinated for rabies. He will also need a heap of vaccinations and blood work.
  • There is nothing like freedom and not having to answer to anyone. I’m 72 and honestly I’m living the dream. I have a home in Australia 🇦🇺 and just bought a holiday house in Italy 🇮🇹. I also have my vehicle totally setup for camping. What more can you want 🎉❤

A prime example of turning a negative into a positive what a top bloke

Just seen the end of this, and people who say, its not fair on the dog, or whatever they said, know feck all about dogs and the relationship, they have with us. Dogs just want to be with us, its a pack thing, and we are their leader. The best of british luck to you Bobby, you deserve a better life....and that dog loves you👍

I live in Brisbane, Australia and a saw a setup very similar to this in the carpark of a local shopping centre. Owners were from Germany and over the previous two years had driven from their home through Europe, the Middle East, India, Thailand and Malaysia before driving it onto a cargo ship bound for Sydney at Singapore. What a life for the adventurous. I was so impressed, I decided to buy a 12.5m coach and convert it into a motorhome with the aim of travelling Australia. As I write this, the conversion is 95% complete, and we're on our first official holiday in it-albeit 50km from home to see that everything works the way it should.

Hello from Australia and wishing you well. A couple of tips from a seasoned traveller in Australia. 1. Be mindful of height clearance when trying to access tracks to camping spots. 2. Have you thought about making a ramp for the dog to get in and out of the truck? 3. Red looks like a beautiful dog but be aware you will not be allowed to access National Parks or Conservation Parks with an animal on board in Australia. Hoping you have a great time. Freedom is precious. 🦋

After I thought a happy very long relationship I had to leave. I was middle aged, jobless and lost. I got into uni, got a degree, went gigging with my fave band, took myself to Barcelona, Greece and Amsterdam not in a truck tho. Met so many interesting people too. You will have a great time. If you find yourself being sentimental, have a cry, but you know you’ve opened the door to a new life with amazing potential and fun. Take care and keep filming for us!

Good luck and safe travels. 100% agree about the dog, he's absolutely up for an adventure 👍
  • Love his enthusiasm! Doesn’t have to be perfect! It’s all part of the story! Rock on buddy! May you run out of miles before you run out of smiles!

I love the fact Bobby is taking Red with him, but Australia has very strict quarantine rules which WILL be an issue. I’d strongly suggest looking into what is required for getting a dog into Australia now rather than just winging it! Red could well end up in quarantine for some time at Bobby’s expense on arrival otherwise. Apart from that, I love the sentiment and the truck!

“Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.” Top bloke, great truck, enjoy the adventure! ✌️

I'm currently in the same position as yourself Bobby. I've just gone through a breakup of 6.5 years with a house, dog, a business that was earning good money and all in a matter of months everything changed. The breakup was definitely the catalyst for it all but since then I have realised the UK is not where I'd like to live so I closed my business selling all assetts, selling the house we had together. Me and the dog are moving to aus in January to start our new life! Good luck on your travels.
  • Gotta love his cool attitude.. and of course the accent. The overlander looks beyond epic and the interior looks like a real home. Awesome all the way! Good luck on epic journey!
  • @corrinanajib6997
You need a ramp for the dog to get in and out. One that lifts off and hangs on the back of the door or a foldable one. You can buy them online for dogs to get in the car boot.
  • @brandyn6644
I did a similar trip with two dogs and they couldn’t love it more. Less behavior problems more listening more cuddling and one lost all her rolls😂. It was a great time.
  • @nickpmoody
A sad story with a happy ending. Please Bobby, start your own channel!

When life gives you lemons, make lemon schnapps. He said 'bougie' ironically, but its very bougie. Red is AWESOME. It was a challange with my dog & boat/campervan adventures, but he made it the adventure that its been. He has passed away & the consolidation is; he had a life of adventure.
  • @SlaterLater
What an absolute inspiration. Love his go with it attitude - so refreshing.
  • @dougieranger
Good luck to you Bob. You’re fulfilling your dreams and making memories that’ll last your entire lifetime brother.
  • @andyh126
A cocktail of exuberant enthusiasm and passion with a truck ready for a nuclear apocalypse. I’d be having sleepless nights over the bbq lid though 😂
