Very few people know the difference between joy and happiness. They search for happiness through drugs, alcohol, lust, or exotic trips. When they arrive in Shangri-La, they find they are right back where they started and their happiness is gone. To be happy means to be controlled by circumstance or what happens to you. This means you are happy based on what transpires. By contrast, God’s joy is there no matter what occurs. That is the secret of Christian joy. It's not based on circumstances, but on the belief that God is Who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do.
