Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended a Memorial Day ceremony in Jerusalem's Mount Herzl cemetery on Monday (May 13) honouring fallen soldiers and civilian victims of wars and conflicts.

This year's commemoration takes place as the country reels from the Oct 7 Hamas attack that has triggered a massive military operation in the Gaza Strip.

Memorial sirens sounded throughout Israel and the ongoing Gaza counter-offensive came to a halt as commemorations were held at cemeteries attended by bereaved families

    What does Netanyahu actually see when he looks at footage of Gaza and then turns and says ISRAEL is the country fighting for its existence?

    Give me a break. Everything for them is "existential". A kid throwing a stone at a tank or an armored jeep is "existential". Palestinian women having a higher birth rate is "existential". A Palestinian family asking for a permit to build a house is "existential". Hamas firing home made rockets is "existential"........ if that's true, then why was the Crime Minister Netanyahu for years happily funding a group that he deems an "existential threat"? Why did he leave the border with Gaza unprotected if Hamas was indeed an "existential threat"? He did because he knows that even as bad as Oct 7th was, Hamas couldn't pose an existential threat to Israel. He also did it for political reasons. His main goal is to stay in power as long as possible. He couldn't careless about Israeli hostages or Palestinian or American lives
