take part in farewell ceremonies marking the end of almost 50
years of Russian and Soviet troop presence on German soil.

    It’s kind of crazy to think the results of WW2 didn’t really end until 40 or so years later. It’s almost as if the war never truly ended until the occupation did. It makes WW2 feel a lot closer than it is. And imagine the exponential advancement of technology and change In culture during that time period.
