take part in farewell ceremonies marking the end of almost 50
years of Russian and Soviet troop presence on German soil.

    A Russian old man arrived Berlin airport, was told to show his passport, man did his best to find it Impatient is the customs lady, "Have you been to Germany before?" asked the young lady "I have been here before" "Then you should have had your passport ready!" "I apologise, last time I came here by T-34, so passport wasn't needed"

    It’s kind of crazy to think the results of WW2 didn’t really end until 40 or so years later. It’s almost as if the war never truly ended until the occupation did. It makes WW2 feel a lot closer than it is. And imagine the exponential advancement of technology and change In culture during that time period.
