I feel like it's probably too late to give Classic another chance, so I'll probably just wait for TBC to come around. And I'm really glad so many people enjoy Classic, this wasn't meant as a dig at the game in an way - just my personal experience!

There are a lot of good things about the early versions of the game... and I do like how when questing there is the very real chance of death if you mess up (until eventually everything was trivial). However going back and playing on p servers it's really the Wrath - MoP expansions that I've had the most fun revisiting. Anything before Wrath and most of the rotations are far too simple and often come down to pressing a single button. Legion+ is a new direction in class design that I personally don't care for. I gave DF a solid shot, but I just hated the "rotations" that results from the new talent builds (CDs don't line up, random 30-45 sec buttons you push that don't interact with anything; a jumble of ideas). Wrath - MoP was a period in which rotations felt intentionally designed and the critiques of MoP aside the rotations were silky smooth and gave a sense of flow. That is my PERSONAL opinion but that influences what I like. For PvP I think the best balanced seasons were Wrath 3.3.5 and MoP 5.4.8. The latter had the most viable comps. I prefer design like the Wrath Frost Mage; simple kit and easy to learn but VERY difficult to master; in fact even Venruki agrees the skill ceiling was HIGHEST in Wrath (even though the kit is much more complex on live). My personal top three expansions for PvP? MoP>=Wrath>Cata As for raiding, not only does the rotations matter in making it enjoyable, but the boss fights as well. I really feel like starting with Ulduar and its hard modes we saw a threshold of mechanics that makes it enjoyable, so anything before that doesn't really interest me. I'm not saying vanilla wasn't "difficult" just not in the same way as personal performance. It's difficult to get 40 people together, and all the world buffs, and all the farming, and grinding, ugh... A different kind of difficulty that doesn't interest me. I hate grinding and farming and professions, etc. Also since I'm a jaded old man now I prefer the fast leveling rates since I've done it a million times before. I didn't think that would take something away from Classic for me, but I have to admit it did. I'm doing Wrath Classic atm, and there are so many things I'd like to do and alts I'd like to make... but the pacing means I haven't bothered. But all of that is what I subjectively enjoy... I feel like people too often forget it's a game and it should be fun. People enjoy different things and that's ok.

a lot of the reasons you mentioned are why i didn't even try wow classic tbh. happy for those who enjoy it but i'm happy with retail!

Tldr: because it sucks Kappa I had a good few months with it but honestly only cause i played it with Biff and Kami and i was happy to support it cause i knew classic tbc might be a thing afterwards but the fact that all qol stuff they added over the years were missing hurt me too much to play it on my own.

It's because you didn't have your favorite druid, Hichaka, playing with you. ;)

Well....We had a good run but alas we’re old and lazy and spoiled by easy mode so no thanks 😂
