I'm a serious highly trained master mechanic. I don't rag on Mercedes or bmw I just know the true cost of ownership and advise people who I know can not afford the maintenance not to buy these vehicles if they can not even afford to fill up the gas tank but sadly they never listen then cry when their vehicles have problems that cost 1000's of dollars and can't afford the fix so they get mad at me or beg me to do free work.. buy what you can afford do the research on your vehicles and get them pre inspected.

Scotty is just a loveable dude. Yeah, his titles are the definition of clickbait, and I don't always agree with the guy but I watch most of his videos anyway. Love the dude.

Dude, Scotty is telling people not to buy a used Mercedes. You can get used ones dirt cheap because people know as they age it costs a fortune to keep one up. He’s letting people know that yea, you can get one for $3k anywhere, but within 2 years you’ll be putting more than that back into it. I’m with Scotty on this one. Don’t buy a Mercedes unless you have money to spend.

I love that he works in his residential driveway and his garage is packed with stuff so a car can't even fit in it. That is how we roll here in Western New York - where he is from! More power to him!

My take is that Scotty is a very skilled mechanic, only having a very strong bias towards Toyota. His videos are for non-enthusiasts, or even college students who wants to buy the first car. Buying a very used performance car without knowing what to expect is dangerous. Made that same mistake buying a 120K-mile E350 when I was in the college. However, after someone gets enough cash flow and wanted a to enjoy driving, I think Germans have very nice options that Toyota simply doesn’t offer. Just don’t push too hard when buying a car, making it a burden to your life. Scotty's channel has been aimed at ordinary folks. He has his little biases from time to time, but on the whole, I find his motoring/mechanical advice is very sound.

As a past owner of 2 BMWs, Scottie is spot on. I distinctly remember a service tech at BMW telling me about a car that was in at the same time mine was and was costing the person thousands to fix, numerous times. He stated that some people just love their BMWs. I told him that I was not in love with any car. Traded my BMW that the dealership had screwed the electrical system on when fixing the transmission and got a Camry. Drove Toyotas ever since other than my F250 diesel. Never a problem and never thousands to repeatedly fix it.

One of the biggest "jokes" from MB were "headlight wipers." One of the dumbest features ever for lack of purpose and waste of money!

Scotty is very entertaining and I enjoy his goofy quirks. I think he gives valuable advice for regular people and provides a good basis for researching automotive issues.
