Hello Outside Viewers!

Have you found a blue agate?

In part 2 of the Ellensburg Blue Agate series, we show you shocking results from cutting and cleaning some agates! Not everything is as it seems!!

We are not experts, nor are we geologists or gemologists.

This video is our opinion, and is offered as entertainment only. Always use your own good judgement when purchasing agates!

Thanks for watching, and GO OUTSIDE!

Great video. I’ve experienced the effects of cutting other blue agates and causing the color to change as well. Strange creations they are.

My buddy and I own a claim further north with some incredible blue agate, and we didn't realize it was such a popular item until we started researching the rock and its rarity! This was an awesome good video, keep up the great work!

Great video thanks for sharing your information. Something that looks so obvious can be deceiving.

Oh man! It makes so much sense. Just put some in the tumbler, we’ll see if they hold their color without the basalt 🀞
  • Chris from Old Guy Adventures said to check you guys out. He has said basically the same thing about the blues from around Ellensburg. I appreciate the information and total honesty. No better way to be! The real Ellensburg blues are gorgeous, aren't they? The other ones are too, but if you want real blue... I completely agree with you, if they don't stay blue, we'll isn't that the point.πŸ€” Thank you for showing us the difference and for sharing!✌🀠
  • Wow I was really surprised to see that nice blue disappear after you too the matrix off. This video was actually really interesting, thanks for sharing
  • Isn't that fun seeing something so blue only to get home and have a bag full of greys. But once in a great while you will find one that keeps its color. That guy at the start of the video must have hunted them for a long time, he is wise to the tricks of blues

those are all ellensburg blues they are a grey blue to a very periwinkle color and the blue isnt really a physical blue it more like a mirage that at the right light will show the blueish mineralization giving the blue color those are all nice specimens the grayer blue stuff just isnt as gem worthy as the deep periwinkle ones are. But those are all Elley blues!

We are just a recent 101 ROCKHOUNDINGOLOGIST=hehehehehehehehe. and definitely Blessed with some Ellensburg Blue BY THE MAN/THE MYTH/THE/THE LEGEND- Mr. CARL CARLSON AND HIS CREW AT THE PUYALLUP ROCK GEM AND MINERAL SHOW. WHOM YOU NAME THE GODFATHER OF ELLENSBURG BLUE.
  • @KyraGriffeth
Have you ever worked the Hardrock claim in First Creek?
  • @ParadisePoisson
You do have Blues!!!! Please tell me you haven't tossed those! Once you cut Ellensburg Blues, depending on the zirconium concentrate within the stone and the direction of the cut, the stone can turn "gray" but that by no means says that it isn't Ellensburg πŸ‘πŸ½ Its all about reflection within the stone, the minerals present and the amount of specific minerals that determine the depth of the blue color and varying colors. Those dull looking pieces you shaved off look gray because of the cut, not because it isn't Ellensburg, so hopefully you didn't toss them love. Time to celebrate, you have Ellensburg and you should do a happy dance β™₯️😊
  • The easiest way to tell is the hardness, Ellensburg Blue Agates are generally harder than the other agates. Blues should land over a 7 on the moh scale vs other normal agates landing between a 6.5 and 7.
  • @ROCKINWHEELERS
WE WILL PURCHASE FROM Mr. CARL CARLSON AND HIS CREW. ALSO HAVE SPOKEN TO FRED, SUCH A PLEASANT INDIVIDUAL.
  • I have never seen such a change in color. I could understand it, if the skin was blue, but it is not. That is sure a heartbreaker. Quality video. Sub'd
