DIY Off Grid Survival Stove! Powered with hand sanitizer! super easy to throw together. great for survival/power out situations. no tools needed! all you do is fill 4 cans with sand and position them as shown in video (then add fuel and light it up). it's a 'flex-fuel' stove too, so it can be run on many different fuels (5 that i can think of) and two of those are standard household items. all you need are 4 leftover steel food cans, one metal sauce cup and sand. that's literally everything. there's no cutting, drilling or altering of the cans in any way. it's just a one minute assembly. the stove has a very stable "triangle design" and will hold any shape or size of pan with ease. (it even holds dutch ovens). it's also very easy to adjust the power of the burner. just lower or raise the sand level of the middle can. the stove boils a half a gallon of water in 15 mins. (and 16 oz. in 5 mins). tested in mock survival situations at home (both inside and outside) - in grid down, power out, wind, cool temps etc... cooked like a champ in every situation. again, it's so simple to make that many people will not need to buy anything to make it. they'll already have everything they need! (including the fuel!) ~ it runs on hand sanitizer but it can also be run on isopropyl rubbing alcohol, ethanol and even some 'drinking' alcohols. note that the bottom of the cans stay relatively cool for a long time so the stove can be used right on the counter. please rate, comment, subscribe, and share it around with everyone you can! πŸ‘πŸ™‚

🟒 since it's made from common household items - even if you don't make it, try to remember the design. it might help you through unexpected tough times or situations. (i've got two of these 'stove setups' on a storage shelf) ...ready to use if needed

Wow! Thanks for sharing, great idea and can be put together quickly. I love it! πŸ˜‰β€
  • Some hand sanitizers have perfume in them so they do stink a bit when you burn them so I do recommend doing this outside and keep a lid on top of your pan. You don't want your food to taste like burnt perfume. Great stove by the way though πŸ‘ !

Awesome! I have been using bricks instead of cans with sand to hold up my pans. The cans would be cleaner, and when not using, I could put a dog food plastic lid on the sand so it doesn't dump out. I have used all kinds of ways for cooking with hand sanitizer since I learned about your heaters. I wonder if you could cook biscuits in a cast iron dutch oven over that hand sanitizer fire... You would then have emergency heat, stove AND oven. My mind is blown... I gotta try it.

Phenomenal video! Even in emergency situations you showcase ways someone could boil water to have clean drinking water. Cool stuff as always.

  • Awesome! The local food bank was giving out bottles and bottles of hand sanitizer during the pandemic. I literally have about a half gallon of the stuff.
  • @Happytruth
Cleaver idea, is it liquid hand sanitiser or gel?
  • @Sourpusscandy
Awesome! Many food banks, panties, and clinics give out hand sanitizer for free. Stock up!
  • Question: basically a solar question, I have a rain barrel outside I do not want to freeze when it's winter. It's inside a small shed. I want a small solar heater inside with a panel on outside. How would I install an automatic thermostat so it doesn't catch anything on fire in the shed and how can I install a switch? Can you do something quick In a video for something like that?
