I can’t stop laughing over the sweet 16 bday. And here I was feeling guilty as a kid when I was sad over my bday gift. I asked for a necklace for my 13th and dad got me a ceiling fan 😐 when we moved 6 years later I made him take it down and bring it to the new house where i made him install it in my new room because it was a bday gift after all it was not staying in the house for someone else…he learned his lesson and never gave any of us weird gifts again so now I just laugh over it 🤭

I’ve been gifted two cars in my life—a 2009 Camry and then a 2009 CRV when the Camry broke down. And I loved both so much. Just having a car that works is a blessing.

I saw a video of a father giving his daughter a used car. She came out to the parking lot of her job and was happy and jumping up and down saying “I love it, it’s so ugly I love it”. Her dad told her he was sorry but she kept laughing and was just so thankful and excited. You could see the love between father and daughter was so strong by and he had raised a wonderful person.

The Tesla girl should be shown the video of the girl who was given a old used car as a gift . She was so happy that she was given a car that she giggled "it's so ugly and I love it" . her dad was over the moon with happiness. And then we have Tesla girl .

As someone who will openly admit she was spoiled, I have to say there's a difference between spoiled and entitled. I was spoiled, but, I was also taught to appreciate things.

A long long time ago I was a rich kid - my father was an internationally renowned financier. When I was 23 he gave me a car for my birthday so that I could drive to work. It wasn't a Ferrari or a Lamborgini. It was a Renault 5, and I was very grateful.

The car one really breaks my heart. My first car was a 1990 VW cabriolet beater and it cost about $1,200 and I was OVERJOYED! I loved that little car and drove it for years! Even while it was falling apart. Then my parents surprised me and upgraded the car for a red VW beetle and let me tell you I CRIED MY EYES OUT because I didn’t ask for it and was so thankful. I can’t imagine being that ungrateful for ANYTHING my parents give me.

i never let my kids win.. when they win they actually win and the EXCITEMENT they have when they finally win is awesome. I now lose on the regular cause they have surpassed me.
