  • It's honestly jaw dropping how many wrestlers that were in LU are now big names across the globe. Just shows that with proper management it could have been a major hit.

I loved that they embraced the cinematic and didn't pretend "Wrestling is real". They made basically live action Mortal Kombat meets WWE. That is what the future of pro wrestling should have become once it became known that all the fights are fixed.
  • It's too bad Lucha Underground went out of business they were really story driven and the matches were really great as well as the wrestlers

I loved this freaking show. It's unique blend of cinematic storytelling with classic pro wrestling action was groundbreaking. I'd love for another promotion to rise up and try this type of approach again. This is something that's sorely needed in the business right now.
  • I loved the show. Pentagon Jr, Ivelisse, and Johnny Mundo were my favourites. The promotion had a unique vibe and I enjoyed the fantasy element to it

Thank you for this and all your videos. Lucha Underground was a masterpiece

One thing I loved about Lucha Underground was it stayed in one spot. Or stayed put for a season or two and didn't move around. I think that's probably better for the wrestlers, less stress going across country, but also because the temple itself felt like a character. With the focus on stories and the specific stunts they did by using the area I could buy the place was essentially a sacrificial site and out for blood.

I used to freaking love Lucha Underground, hope they make a comeback
  • I really miss Lucha Underground and was sad to see that go. It was a breath of fresh air in a sport that was kinda stale at the time. Excellent documentary.

Lucha underground was addictive to watch and had great characters and stories. Son of havoc and Mack was dope, the story between prince puma and Rey mysterio put on a awesome match, just so much awesomeness.

There has never been a wrestling company, where i never missed a Show except for this one. I love the movie like storytelling and Backstage altercations. And Dario Cueto was the perfect heel on top of it all. If u like "Ricochet" u have to watch him as "Prince Puma" (still hoping Puma makes a Comeback at AEW o AAA
  • Man, I remember watching Season 1 and 2 back in the day when Lucha was going up against golden era NXT. You could just feel the passion and love for the craft with every match and it has some great storytelling with the more cinematic vignettes. Part of me always hopes Robert Rodriguez or whoever had creative control for LU reaches out to the promotions mentioned here (except WWE, since Vince doesn’t like to play nice with others😂) and bring it back with a cross promotional event. On another note, it’s pretty depressing that when it came to covering the LU alumni in WWE all I could do was just shake my head and think “they’re holding all these guys back”. Doesn’t help a majority of them are gone from the company now😔 Regardless, Lucha Underground will always live on in our memories and with each of the amazing workers🔥

What I loved about LU was how they modernized wrestling with the stories, both lifelike and scifi both. They knew that everyone knows wrestling is scripted and predetermined, so they added the cool and outlandish stories to spice things up. That is something a lot of current companies aren't doing. Others are still trying to act like wrestling is real which takes away from the entertainment aspect when we know it's all fake.
  • I gotta say that was the best show ever! & I’ve been watching wrestling since the 80’s..it’s a damn shame it didn’t last 😢❤️..these are the kind of shows real wrestling fans want not crap like WWE (Worlds Worst Entertainment)!
  • Vampiro once said “without lucha underground there would be no AEW” which is true
  • After the death of Eddie Guerrero, I stepped away from wrestling for a very long time. Gradually, eventually, I started poking around in forums and subreddits again, and that was when I first started hearing some rumblings of this new show - finally, after it had been on for a few months, I decided to start catching up from the beginning and once I saw Chavo Guerrero show up, I knew there was gonna be something special about that show. It singlehandedly got me back into wrestling, 1000%.

Lucha Underground was the one show I could get invested in. I dropped off of WWE due to the PG era, and coming back, it still feels too clean, soulless. AAA felt like Central American WWE and NJPW is too outrageous for me. Lucha Underground was full of heart, and knowing that Robert Rodriguez was the producer, it made sense that it was vibrant, full of life and outrageously serious. Knowing more of the behind the scenes stuff though, it's sad that it had to fizzle out instead of dying when it was at its peak. This show will have a place in my heart for igniting my love for pro wrestling.

I hope Marty makes it big again one day. His run in LU was easily one of my favorites and he provided amazing feuds, singles as well as mix gender tag matches, and had some of the creepiest heel storytelling in all of wrestling. His storyline where he stalked Marissa, and would always sniff her while she announced him. Dude was scary good at playing a psycho 😅
  • @0therun1t21
I'm so bummed out about this, I hope they all get to continue being stars.
