We breakdown game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals between Connor McDavid & The Edmonton Oilers vs Sergei Bobrovsky & The Florida Panthers. The Oilers FINALLY broke through the wall of Bob & used a 'set play' that gave the Panthers fits in game 4.

  • Apologies for The Marge Simpson breakdown. I was LTIR on the weekend & had to visit Mark Stones doctor to get me in game shape for this video. All seriousness, thanks for supporting everyone! Who wins game 5!?
  • After Game 5, it’s pretty clear that 8-1 defeat shook the Panthers. Great coaching and execution by the Oilers. This is turning into one helluva series! Great breakdown, as always.
  • I think FL's too good to lose 4 in a row, but as a mostly impartial spectator (Rangers fan) game 4 honestly just warmed my heart. Whatever happens the oilers put on a huge showing for their fans when everyone had them pegged as a complete disappointment. Even if they lose game 5, thats a million times better than getting swept at home. Also props to them for at least making this series interesting.

Dude you killed this analysis and deserve way more subs. Hopefully you keep up the grind and quality content cause this shit is sensational. Great break downs with simple explainations.

Wild that both NBA and NHL finals had teams up 3-0 and both got blown out in game 4.

Have been waiting for this video! Every Oiler was playing on another level. I couldn't believe my eyes! Janmark, Brown, Holloway, etc. Hope they can keep it up.

If you're not an NHL coach by 30 you need to be on that path. Brilliant analysis.
  • Really cool watching this after having watched game 5 tonight , great analysis man 👊🏻
  • @trajancanada
Good in-depth analysis. I could tell that the Oilers had adjusted their strategy for game 4, this explains it very well.
  • @Mayonnaise69
Quick honey new hockey psychology just dropped!
  • @MrBallzy
Flash forward to now.... Going to game 7. Looking like Oilers are now cup favorites
  • @chriz9959
perfectly explained. if a change in strategy throws the opponent completely off course, as in the last game, then it's mainly thanks to the coach and his team.

Coming here after game 5. Just wanna say to all the Florida fans who said Florida threw game 4. What now
  • I know less than nothing when it comes to ice hockey, as it is not played where I live, but it has been a treat to see the tactical breakdowns that you’ve been putting up. That being said I’ve been surprised by how much carry over tactically there is between ice hockey and regular hockey. The simple cherry pick play is a nightmare because it forces a lose lose situation. Because it’s either you give the opponent tonnes of room to do other things and mark the floating forward or you close the space and let the floating forward do the funny. It’s simple and effective. And an utter nightmare for your central defenders of the forwards don’t backtrack. I wouldn’t be surprised if this final goes the full 7 yards and comes down to the wire. The reason being that the Panthers either have to sack what made them so dominant in the first three games, their stranglehold on the Oilers D and the relentless pressure they put on the defence. Or they are going to double down on it and the cherry pick play means that effectively to borrow from football McDavid and Draisitl effectively become Griezmann and Morata from Atleticó Madrid. Where what would happen is that the oilers will get tonnes of extra chances because they just need to smash it up the rink. Effectively long ball (well puck) Target Man gameplay And with my limited understanding I suspect that the panthers will double down on their current game plan. And so I suspect that the next 4 games will come down to if Inspector Bobrovski is Sherlock Holmes or Inspector Gadget (the goofy and rather incompetent bit of his character).

One win isn't much, but if the Oilers can also win game 5 they will plant a legitimate seed of doubt in the Panther's mind before heading back to Edmonton for game 6 in front of that crowd. If the crowd carries them to another win in game 6, anything can happen in game 7. Panthers need to nip this in the bud at home in game 5, or they are playing with real fire.

You sound fine, don't worry about it
