The fallout bottlecap currency thing is actually really interesting. Different regions had different systems: many regions figured out how to get beer or soda bottling plants running again, using them to bottle purified water for trade. Returning the cap was worth a discount: and so the caps had a value- eventually ending up on trade caravans to one of the plants to be exchanged for a discount on a water shipment. In other regions: mines were revived, and gold became a currency: generally controlled by some group. Finally you have the NCR: with paper fiat currency.

There's a half dozen comments of me, from the day after it dropped, saying "Fallout is like SW TFA. I didn't like it but a lot of people love it because it wears its fallout paint well but given time that paint will peal and reveal a pile of rust underneath" and "it feels like the writers put in a lot of time and effort to study fallout lore through nothing but memes"

Writers: “Shady Sands is gone.” Fans: “Oh my gosh! All that culture and beauty. How did it perish?” Writers: “Got nuked.” Fans: “…What? How? Explain! I need more answers than that!” Writers: “Nah, I just wanted to see it get nuked.” Consumers: seal clap wildly

I see Jim has fully embraced the clown persona.

2:13:30 "shady sands being destroyed is a reminder the wasteland in a fucking wasteland" But it's not... shady sands didn't fall to the wastelands. It didn't collapse from a lack of resources or infighting. It didn't fall to another faction gaining more power than the ncr. It didn't just slowly die from the crazy rad-animals that are around 24/7. It was destroyed by a random nuke from a vault tech assistant that was big mad that his wife left him.

This show is basically TFA all over again: it tricked alot of people into thinking that it carried the legacy of the previous content forward when in reality it just about destroyed everything in the pursuit of keeping an imaginary “staus quo”.

The fact that Sterling said “you are nerdnazi” (properly meant gatekeeper) Just because we disliked the retcons of the games in the show, I hope the last of us season 2 will be set in space and Abby is a white guy not a girl Let’s see how he likes that mr. nerdprogressive
