Lyrics:
Who will be my sun when the day breaks?
Who will be my sun as the morning wakes?

Even time wishes you were here
Wait with me, the dawn will come
Come all the bells and come the fear
Where the holy words come from
I can’t find any joy in here
I wish I’d loved you for that long

I had so little here to keep
Drawn through these hordes to die
Come the chimes that will peal so deep
The third bell to horrify
Into my vessel they can weep
I lay back and I watch them cry

The Angel of the cruellest watch
The bearer of the final bell

Here comes my wounded hand
Take it now or watch me die
Here comes my bleeding claw
Take it now or watch me die

Come aloud the final toll, seeding liars into the world
With cold hands I raise you up to my lips as lovers die

My Dying Bride is one of few bands that a riff starts playing and you know it’s them.

Zwolle, Netherlands, 1995 .... I attended an Iron Maiden gig and when I entered the venue, the support act, MDB, was just starting "The Cry of Mankind". Never heard of the band, I was sold in 10 seconds of hearing that repetitive guitar line. It was something in music I never heard.... dark , mysterious, and it was trying to tell me something. I attended another 7 MDB concerts after that, a few times on the front row. The band has gone through a lot of changes since '95, but the essence of why I liked them then is still here. As if I would walk in to a concert, not knowing this band, hearing the intro of this song "The 2nd of three bells", I would be sold again. A true masterpiece of the traditional My Dying Bride essence!

Wonderfully dark, elegiac and atmospheric, this Band is simply a master of their craft ! Great !

Wow! That heavy death-metallish breakdown and sad violin reminds me of classical MDB albums "Turn loose the Swans" and "The Angel and the Dark River".

25 years listening to this band and I've never heard Aaron sound like he does in the intro. So great that he's still pushing himself to try new stuff. Also, Dan Mullins is KILLING it on this track!

I love that they haven't lost any energy in 30 years. This song is amazing, can't wait for my pre-order.

Best video of the band so far! This melody neils down my heart. A slow death parade towards the dark shores of endless black ocean of dead hopes. A bell ring for the empty tomb. My Undying Bride From Russia with love 🖤🖤🖤

Late 90s/ Early 2000s I had a cassette with MDB and The Gathering on it, don´t even know how it ended up in my hands really... They complemented each other well in my dark hours... Thank you
  • MDB will never go silent in my ears! This band change the narrative of my life with huge impact and influences...tnk u MDB for all these years where ure songs and music kept me contained with my every single emotions for more than 30 years!
