Most people don’t have a clue how good this album is

People who diss on Load are missing this masterpiece

The tormented soul of Hetfield. Pure Masterpiece. It's their ORION with Lyrics.
  • Far and away the most underrated song in Metallica's catalogue, hidden at the end of an often-unfairly dismissed album. Epic track that, like so many of their songs, inspires visions and transports you to another time and place. Rediscover, Metallica fans!!

The truth is that Metallica raised the bar so high that nothing they put out at this time would of been "good enough." If another band made the Load album it would of been called a masterpiece.

Sometimes heavy doesn't mean fast or loud, sometimes its the atmosphere and emotion it brings out and right now this feels like the heaviest damn thing ever...

The rythm, the feeling in the voice, the backround voice, the bass, the drums, the main riff, the solo, the atmosphere... whole song its a master piece!

This is by far the best solo by Kirk....made that guitar scream in pain and insanity...WOW he got it right, he truly understands what his mate was going through and let his Gibson do what it does best........

I believe a hundred years from now people will still be listening to Metallica and wish they could go back to 2023 or 1989 or 1983 and see them play live. We are fortunate to be living in a time where we can see a Metallica show in person.
  • Metallica has some of the best music ever written,CANNOT BE REPLICATED

I don't care what anyone thinks, this is 1 of their absolute best songs!!🤘🤘
  • @marshalt
I just realized that this song, the last track on Load, has the line, "I'd rather die behind the wheel," and the first song of Reload is Fuel, which is all about driving to fast and car crashes.

The older I get the more I appreciate the Load and Reload era of Metallica, I enjoyed them at the time when they we're released but didn't really appreciate them like I do later on in my life.
  • My personal favourite from Metallica, and easily one of their most under-rated songs. An epic in every way. That menacing bassline on the verse, brilliant riffs. One of Lars' best drum tracks. That understated solo leading to a wah heaven face ripper. James at his absolute vocal best, and those lyrics still give me chills after 27 years.

People always cry that Load/ReLoad weren't Heavy/Thrash Metal anymore... Yet this song is the pure definition of "heavy"! Such a dense, thick atmosphre, so much emotion... Love it!

Here in 2023, its time for all of us old school Metallica fans who were there from the beginning and hated the band's 90s direction to stop down and recognize Load for the masterpiece it is. It's not what anyone wanted at the time, but it is really one hell of a good album.

This song brought me to tears the second time I heard it. First time, I was left in plain awe. How many heavy metal artists can do that? There is no one like Metallica.
  • @kunntz
The drums for this song has its own story ...
