One reason your channel is so successful is that you have a lovely personality and are a natural behind the camera..... ๐Ÿค—

Douglas is a good addition to the new equipment..Maybe that should be his new job to camouflage all the new machinery.๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚
  • @lindahopps739
The pond looks so much better ! And Douglas watching over his โ€œfishdom โ€œ ๐Ÿ˜†
  • Love how Douglas finds a way to strategically make it into the camera shot. Has he been talking to Russell?
  • Really want to thank you for all the 'this is what really happens" videos this spring. Taking down trees, visually showing dividing plants, the pond, plant rescue, various contractors doing things. It really helps to see all these things and to have visual points of reference (not that I have a pond) so when I have things come up, I know I can do these things.

SHADE, SHADE, SHADE!! ๐Ÿ–๏ธ I also have a Aquascape pond, I live in Broward County, FL (South FL) we are a zone 10a and the same thing happened to my pond but only sooner. After 4mths of the pond going in, it looked exactly like yours. The reason the algae bloomed so quickly is that the pond is exposed to the sun, there was no over head shade trees or coverings. You have to remember although algae can grow in low light conditions, the best way to get on top of it or prevent it entirely is make sure your pond receives shade. Algae grows prolifically under constant sunlight. I made a comment on your video when you first had the pond installed telling you that it's too exposed to the sunlight and that you won't make it a full year without your pond being overgrown with algae! Take it from someone who's had 3 Aquascape ponds comparable in size to yours and bigger, and someone who lives in the ๐ŸŒก๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ hottest climate... SHADE, SHADE, SHADE!!! ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Douglas looked so good on that stump, he is a cool cat! He got in the shot. I can't believe the transformation, the pond is beautiful again!

That has to be the most satisfying before and after youโ€™ve done to date. The only thing missing is the sound of angels playing trumpets during the after scene. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Douglas looks rather regal on the log. My favourite aspect of this video is Lauraโ€™s enthusiasm for the whole process of cleaning everything out. Going forward how often do you think youโ€™ll need to do an intensive clean like this?
  • You can see Laura's jubilation and excitement brimming to the surface at the clean pond.
  • @ctrygrl3
I was cracking up over the doomy music for the algea scenes and the joyful music for the clean scenes. Whoever edited this, kudos on creativity and humor!!
  • The music accompaniment to this saga was hilarious. Especially the sounds of doom when you showed the algae. Well done with the fish rescue!
  • @michelera6365
Laura! You are a real woman warrior!! So willing to take on any chore! Wow! You go girl!
  • @marcyr6539
Curious why the skimmer, auto doser and jets were not installed when the pond was built? Amazing transformation! What a peaceful place to enjoy. ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ  ๐Ÿชด
  • So at the farm where I grew up with had 2 ponds, which were stocked with fish. We, periodically and mostly in the spring would get major algae growth. My dad would buy a flock of baby ducks and those ducks would go in an eat most of the algae. Then after the ducks grew up, we would eat the ducks. Next year we would get a new flock of babies.

The pond looks awesome. Whoever edited the video, im laughing-the creepy music then bright music was perfect!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • Hi Laura! You may not be aware of this, but fertilizer runoff from the plantings around the pond can lead to excessive algae growth due to a high amount of nutrients in the water. That could be the problem youโ€™re facing. Either way, you and the crew did a great job clearing out the algae and the pond looks so much better! ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ
  • @s.barlow7062
Beautiful furry ornament you have laying in your stump. Douglas doesnโ€™t want to be bothered during his spa day.
  • @renaeboonstra54
Laura โคyou have such a beautiful way of speaking to us ๐Ÿ’ซ
