I had a similar experience which you had. In 2017, when I came back from India to USA, an immigration officer send me and my mom to the different hall and sat for a while along with other people. At time am not worried because i know USA change their immigration rules often. After I while they send us to immigration station and the lady starts asking a bunch of questions (like. How I get in USA in the first place? What my parents do? What I am doing? How I get my green card? etc). That was first i was held in there. Usually, they ask 1 or 2 questions or nothing. By the way, the immigration officer was an Indian lady (maybe that's why she ask a bunch of questions). So basically don't freak out when you had this kind of experiences. Moreover, BE NICE TO THE OFFICERS, EVEN THEY DRIVES YOU CRAZY

This has happened to me a couple of time when I was on my OTP . Delhi to Boston. Now that I am on H1 this never happens. You come, they stamp, you go.

I had the same experience traveling to US couple of times. Got used to it now. I have applied global entry for the same reason, should see how it goes next time when I travel.

Even l was once picked up for random custom check in New Delhi. I was flying to Singapore via Sri Lanka. I wasn't informed why l was picked up. They just asked me random questions like why l was travelling and how much money l was carrying.

That’s normal to get picked up randomly at customs. I was picked up at IGI after checking in. They have system going through travel dates. I was in india only for 10 days and that could have been the reason.

Same thing happened with me bro when I was going to Washington airport from chatrapati shivaji Mumbai airport with my family for a week tour.And I was stopped and they kept my passport and boarding pass and take me to a room where a couple of people where also waiting like students, few ladies, a pilot, etc. But now I now there's no need to worry next time if samething happens with me again.

It won't happen to you if your an American Citizen. Usually how one looks, how many times you have travelled, and your status is what comes in as a red flag. My brother is a stalky extremely fair, above 6 foot tall guy with a beard. He is always chosen for random checks.

I came California USA last two months before and USA immigration they didn't ask me any question but our on own Delhi they asked me many questions why you going,what you will do there etc.

We’ll that’s CBP ( US customs and border protection ) normal procedures for secondary inspection as they are the first line of defence in the united states . A travellers immigration is subject to inspection & review @ all times and there is nothing to worry about it

Are questions related to immunization asked at Immigration? If my university is going to provide all vaccinations which is covered under my health insurance so should i take any vaccination in India or not ?
