Squatters in Henderson high-rise kept out by neighboring business owner

Published 2024-07-24
The security fence was open again, this time pulled apart even further and the wiring which kept it shut was gone. A telltale sign squatters are back in the abandoned Downtown Henderson high-rise, a concern that’s living there rent-free.

Nevada's Governor should follow the example of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 621, the new squatters bill into law on March 27, 2024. The bill aims to help property owners by streamlining the process of removing squatters and protecting private property rights. The new law is effective on Monday July 1st, 2024 in the State of Florida

Comment section be like its okay blah blah. What if squatter living beside your house now. Would it be okay?
  • Dude, I want my tattoos touched up with this guy. Anyone know pricing for this business? Never travel to Henderson. Guess I gotta go Google this, wish 8 News would have given this business owner a shout-out since he's doing more work to keep squatters out than the property owner is.
  • Behold, this tale doth reveal the trials faced by both the business owner and those in need of shelter. Blessed be the neighbor who stood vigilant to protect the sanctity of the place. Yet, let us remember to show compassion and seek solutions that address the plight of the homeless. May we strive for a harmonious balance in our community.
  • So what give them a place to live then, hot as hell out there and 50 percent of the homeless are vets

  • Who cares?!?! They are people. It's over a hundred degrees out there every day.
