I loved the runner on his own, but then you threw in the bus stop, the falling leaves, the running cat, the cobblestones, and suddenly it took on an almost Rockwell whimsy which is amusing and engaging. Context is everything.
  • Adding the cat and the stone road definitely made the drawing complete. At first, it looked like the model was run on thin air, but adding the other parts gives it motion and context.

I love how precise your lines are without using your wrists

I like that you let your artwork take you where it wanted to go. And if that was to add more detail...then YES! I think the best art comes when we "go with the flow" and see where it takes us.😀

wow I love you added a cat and the sign. Now the whole sketch really tells a story!

I thought 0.1 was always too thick for me so I favored the .05 and only used the .1 for darker areas. But recently I have been using the .1 more and varying the pressure helps to make some interesting lines.

I really love your sketch with fine liner. I think you should keep it like this without adding nothing . Your really inspiring!

Excellent picture ! I always add something to compliment my subject in my paintings and illustrations. As you said, it tells a story. Makes the picture intriguing and is tremendous fun to create ! Please do add fun little touches to your sketchwork! Anyhoo, got to get back to the chores. Have a fantastic day one and all!
  • This is great and inspiring. The cat, leaves and bus top sign give it more of a 3D quality. Really cool thanks for sharing and explaining your use of pens. Very helpful and good food for thought Scottie.
  • I really love minimalism but the dynamic definitely changed with the extra elements. I think that it would depend on what you’re trying to convey. The negative space was interesting like a body in motion in infinite space, but again It depends. I think they are both outstanding.

The added elements really made it a whole story and piece for me. As it was it was a very lovely and skilled sketch, but adding the elemnets really brought it to life and gave it so much more personality.

Adding the other elements was a great idea. I like sketches that depict a scene the way your final sketch does. Really well done!

adding the other stuff definitely made it more interesting and added a story. felt way more immersive with the other things added!

I really like the extra elements that provide the context! Sometime ago, I ordered a 0.005 micron fine liner. I didn’t use it for a long time, but now I find it useful, as you have described, for getting lighter shading, fine details and also when working with softer papers where the line tends to expand a bit. Also, you can get really small dots that work well for texture.

adding more to the drawing i feel gives it a small story . great work !

You asked for feedback even tho it’s a year ago, I thought I’d add my two pennorth: I very much like the background you added. Adding a story to the figures brings it to life SO much. You are very talented. I’m hoping some of it will rub off on me☺️

Gorgeous work! Not a line out of place and the proportions are spot on! I'm now subscribed and enjoying your content.

I'm in love with your inking style! 😍 I think I did like it better without the wash but that's just me. It still looks fantastic!

with the background, it feels less static! And it begins to tell a story. See, whenever Im surfing social media, the first thing that draws me to other artists' art/ sketches, is non solitary images. Solitary sketches feel so detached and boring but as soon as i see a page full of interlinked and communicating sketches, I feel so pleased. Anyway, it is also how I do mine so maybe i am a bit biased
