The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog - Full Gameplay Playthrough (Full Game)

I know this was probably meant as an April Fool’s joke, but it actually made for a good visual novel game! Well done, SEGA! Or whoever made it.

Is it weird that I want the POV character to come back. He’s a cave loving, trash inspecting, social anxiety ridden guy who’s also like… The Most normal guy in sonic canon that thinks in infinite runner. I love him dearly

Shadow is the most in character here that he’s been in like 15 years

I’m glad Sage is an actual member that’s going to stay in the series… cause honestly, she’s perfect for the group, one robot that’s mostly silent but can destroy anything in his path, one robot that’s dumb but slightly smart, one robot that’s just dumb and nothing else, and then we have Sage who’s the most smartest one in the robot group and is mostly calm, all of them combined with Eggman who’s the grumpy dad just makes the perfect group, and I hope in the next game we get to see them more

Ah yes, mental note: shadow likes chocolate cake. Seriously tho the characterization of shadow was actually good in this game and I love it. He’s not completely “edgy with no feelings” but actually went out of his way DURING the game to try and get Amy’s present after feeling bad that he was the only one who didn’t get her a gift 😂 Poor shadow’s probably never even been to a birthday party beside’s Sonic’s 💀

I kind of found it clever that it is Amy's birthday in this game, because, coincidentally, it is Sonic CD's 30th anniversary, which is where Amy made her debut.

You know wants I pointed several things out throughout this story: -Even though Sonic is passed out for most the game, His very presence is felt throughout the whole game and he is the driving force that started the plot and ended the game. So, In a way; This feels like a Sonic game without being like a Sonic game which is very clever to add something new to the Sonic Franchise just after Sonic Frontiers, which is also something new. -If this takes place after Sonic Frontiers, Then it looks, They're sticking with Tails where he trying to be independent from Sonic; Because, While he usually Sonic's sidekick, Now he has a sidekick, The Player character. -If this takes place after Sonic Frontiers, Alot of peoples think that as soon as Knuckles leaves the island and stop being the Master emerald's guardian, Someone is steal the Master Emerald because Knuckles not there. But luckily, This is not a serious game where that happens yet and I'm certain the Sonic Frontiers sequel will explore the Master Emerald origin. Also, The fact that Knuckles is obviously an nod to Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie animated version. -It nice to see Amy not being obsessed with Sonic throughout the game until Sonic is actually not pretending to be unconscious and more than justified reasons for being her to be obsessed with Sonic. Also, Since The entire story takes place on her birthday and it was her idea to have an mystery party and and she technically defeated the Bad Guy instead of Sonic; Just show whoever wrote this story knew exactly what they were doing with Amy character and expanded. - Rogue and Blaze are being paired together most of this game which you don't see often in games so that a nice changed of things and added something new, Both of them written almost exactly the same; My only issue is that Rogue obsessed with little jewelry is little exaggerate because I know she wouldn't be "drooling over a sparkly ornament" but I'm sure that just play fo laugh and Blaze while everyone throughout the story is playing different roles but she is only one who embrace her role and her dialogue with Rogue gives off the impression that she is somewhat annoyed by Rogue which I find in character for her. -Vector is mostly the same and while it seems weird that being an detective doesn't get to play the role of the detective, It most likely that he would have found about the reveal neared the end most quickly than Tails and ruined the game. Also since Vector was in the library which is known for having computers, I guess he found the computer room. -I like how they don't immediately put Shadow the obviously murder and instead show that he care about others by giving Amy tickets to her favorite bands. Look like Shadow is written back just like Sonic 06 and he not just uses an marketing tool. -Beware the quite ones they said, especially if that quite one is a ninja, a stealth assassin, So it somehow in his character to be a killer. Also, I know some peoples are critically Espio easily be fooled into using a weapon against his father but you need to remember that Espio is mostly serious about focus but I don't think he that social and mostly lack skills. -And finally, It looks like Sage is back and it looks like she staying after one year from her game debut and now she has Metal, Orbot and Cubot as her brothers. It not an big game like Sonic Frontiers but I like this game and now I can't wait to see what Sonic future holds.

I love how they reference Sonic Frontiers here, Sonic maxing out his rings to get max speed, Eggman mentioning Sage, so I guess this game is canon now huh? And I find it funny how Sonic went from facing an entire moon to facing a train

For a joke game it was incredibly charming. The art is a delight and I love how everyone is portrayed here. (So nice to see Vector and Espio again.)

The ending is absolutely amazing. Gotta appreciate the humor with orbot and cubot, and the fact that sage and metal are wearing “let’s go dad” shirts. Masterpiece.

The fact that they mention Monkey Ball and Shadow, Knuckles and Vector being fans of it was the best. Wish that after we fixed the arcade cabinet that Monkey Ball would become a 'THINK!' minigame, would love some variety.

One would say that Sonic likes to make dramatic entrances, but to wake up exactly when his friend was about to beat up his other friend, that's awfully convenient.

This game had no right going this hard! Also I'm pretty sure this is the most relevant Espio has ever been and I'm so happy for my boy

You'd think that the player character might be a little more included at the end. I would have loved to see Tails pull him in for the party at minimum since he helped with the case...but no, once the train is stopped, that's it, they completely forget about him. Kinda feel bad, even if he does win the lottery and go to space optionally.
