Part 3. It's pollination time at the compost pile. We have an Atlantic Giant Pumpkin plant growing in our giant compost pile. This compost was made from thousands of bags of leaves and hundreds of pounds of coffee grounds which has left us with a perfect pile of finished leaf mold compost to try and grow the largest giant pumpkin in. This plants roots system is only in our compost, no added soils or amendments. no fertilizers, just pure 100 finished compost. We explain the proper pollination techniques using male flowers to pollinate our female pumpkin flower. Follow along as we try and grow a huge pumpkin in this pile of one million composted leaves.

learned so much from this entire series and congrats on the 500lb pumpkin! Loved your respectful language when describing the pumpkin reproductive process! Was charming and perfect! I also watched you making your compost pile during snow, rain and sun .... very inspirational!
